2019: Current e90 Sedan Rear Diffuser Options

There is a sparse offering to say the least. There are extremely low cost (eBay), mid-range (JL motoring) and hyper-premium (3D Design, RKP/Challenge etc.) carbon fiber diffuser options for the sedan today.

Are there any cost-effective options that I've missed that are at a decent price point, with decent fitment and finish? I know some have had luck with eBay and others, not so much. I would tend to say "fitment" and "quality" is still subjective.

It's a long shot and will probably have to shell out upwards for $1k for a decent quality piece however I don't want to leave no stone unturned.

Cheers!

I would add Vorsteiner and Arkym to the mix. They are similar in price to RKP/Challenge.

The 3D Design is in a class of its own as it is double the price of the above options.

Good point. My underlying hope is that someone has found a vendor on eBay (or somewhere) that has a legitimate option for that lower end price ($300-ish). Doubtful but I've got to inquire.

FWIW, I bought an authentic Vorsteiner piece on this forum for an ungodly low price. They are rare but deals can pop up from time to time. It was on my last M3 and I sold it when I sold the car. Now that I bought another E90, I'm on the hunt again too and wish I held on to the diffuser

I just saw your WTB thread, can you post some pics of how the E92 tips sit without the diffuser? TIA

Cyba Tips, e92 length. Car hasn't been started today so this is cold. Definitely get longer when hot.

Haven't found a design I like on eBay. There's also some real shitty ones (fitment). I feel like it's luck of the draw on that factor. Also, a lot of the diffusers out there have tiny fins. RKP race diffuser is by far my favorite because of that design. Decisions, decisions. $1k on a tiny carbon fiber piece is preposterous.

Yeah $1k for a small piece diffuser is crazy, but if it's real carbon then it's worth it. JL motoring have some nice ones

Glad I'm not the only one in this position, but there is also the FancyWide diffuser if you want more of an aggressive look. I feel you need to go with that racy look to pull it off though. Went with that look in my last car, I'm over it. I'm just trying to stay with the understated aggression that BMW gave to this and past M's. I like the RKP one, not sure I want to spend 1k at the moment. Then again it's not like its going to get damage like an expensive front lip getting scraped.

Good call. If they can get the cost down, I'd be interested. IMO, it's the best looking diffuser currently available.

Yup. Way too aggressive for what I'm going for. TBH, looking for a diffuser that will hide the "length" of my e92/coupe length tips + add a little aggression and contrast.

I'm surprised there isn't any replicas of the RKP one. Darn this M tax, 1k for a small diffuser is hard to justify compared to a mod like an autosolutions ssk that you will appreciate more out of

Word, not paying 1k for a little piece of cfrp that will just get burnt from my exhaust. I am Running the fancywide lower diffuser in the back and I’m fine with it.

I second the AS ssk instead

The BMW CF trunk spoiler is like $350 and that a factory fitment piece.

The closest one I like is the JL-Motoring Type II CF diffuser is the closest to the Challenge/RKP ones with an extra line in the middle for $450.

That's a direct replica of the Vorsteiner Type II. The unique part about Challenge/RKP is that the fins are about 50% "deeper" than all of the other options and currently nobody makes a rep of it.

I put a Fancywide over a Challenge diffuser. You could probably keep it under $1k with a Challenge rep and the Fancywide.
