Space Grey - Tint Questions

I have a 2011 M3 with fox red interior. I would like to add tint.

I live in a locale where tint is not allowed on the side windows but I would like to add some for UV and heat rejection to help keep the interior happy.

I was thinking of using a Ceramic tint for maximum rejection while allowing visible light. Considering 40%-50% on the 4 side windows and 30%-40% on the rear window.

I was wondering if anyone else runs similar tint % and could share a photo? Also, any recommendations?

The shop I am considering recommends 30% on the 4 side windows and 15% on the rear. I am worried that this may be a little too dark for my taste. FYI, they use Autobahn Black Ceramic film.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

This one, which is from Apex, appears to be 30% or more, not very tinted .... but it's also a photoshoot picture, so lighting might be affecting it... I think my SG is 20% or so, but that's darker than your situation.

Crystalline makes a 70% film that is near clear but blocks 99% UV as well as a decent amount of infrared. I used this on my moonroof for my daily and will be using it on my windshield on the M and daily once I replace the windshields.

Sounds harsh to not allow tint on your side windows.

I got 32% F /30% R Solar guard performance tint. Perfect match for SG.

I also posted a thread asking about window tint a while back if you want to check it out. A word of advice, try to see window tint in person because pictures will not accurately reflect what it looks like in real life due to the differences in lighting and the angle.

To give you an idea, this is my M3 with 30% all around, no windshield tint. I do have a black interior and I kind of wish I went a little darker to 25%. I've done 20% before and its a bit too dark at night for my preference, especially at night.

In your post, you mention UV and heat rejection and assuming those are your priorities over darkness, then as one of the above said 3M crystalline should be a top consideration because it is a premium tint that doesn't look too dark.

Thanks. I will go take a look at a few cars soon. I think 40% on sides and 30% on rear is likely what I am leaning towards.

Cheers,
