0-260 km/h Acceleration Comparison : F80 M3 vs. E92 M3

I just make a video using the following clips to compare 0-260 km/h acceleration between F80 M3 and E92 M3.

Even though F80 M3 is faster, I still like my E90 M3 (V8 engine)

F80 M3 0-267 km/h by sport auto
E92 M3 0-282 km/h by BerlinTomek

Not that much of a difference in this video. If the E9X M3 was DCT, the result would be different.

The difference between the F80 and the E9x is so much smaller than the difference between the E9x and the E46. Preference will determine who prefers what, not outright performance.

Not agreed ! Stop the video at exactly "0.05" ! And what can we see ?
Yes...BOOM !!! E9X = 100 km/u and in the same time the F80 = 120 km/u !!!
Even DCT and with a software/upgrade will not close the gap of 20 km/u !
20 km/u difference and that in 0-100 km/u is huge !
Saw enough ,so let's be honest F80 will smoke E9X and that all day long !
But will keep my E92 !

Hopefully Renaissance got the time sync wrong and the F80's video clock was running too fast, otherwise we're gonna be smoked.

About the time sync > stop the video at 0.04 sec. and the F80 shows 100 km/u and 4-4,1 sec. that's the number from 0-100 km/u for the F80 !

Why would they produce a newer model that was slower than the previous one? It makes no sense. If you are interested in 0-100 or whatever then either build your car up more or buy Godzilla. Otherwise just enjoy what a sweet ride you have.

Still not even a question that we are going to get smoked regardless. Whether it's DCT vs DCT or not, the F80/2 is going to be significantly quicker, especially from a dig.

Have you guys ever seen an F10 M5 drag an E60? Yea yea, we can all love the sound of that V10, but the videos speak for themselves.

Having seen the both the F80 and F82, I can say they look great in real life and I'd love to add (not replace) to the E92 M3.

Pretty damn fast, but I think a rolling start would be better for comparison since the traction control light set off in the E9X

When I was looking to buy a new car (2012), I was also looking at the Cayman and 911. Both had new generations coming out. The new generations were lighter, faster, more powerful, better grip, better fuel economy, and bigger. And as I recall, pretty much the same price as the out going generation. Time and technology marches on. My philosophy has always been buy the best technology at the time and enjoy what you have because something better will come along very quickly.

Yes and no. Yes the new Cayman is much better looking than the first gen (inside too, that's an awesome interior), but some will say the Cayman R would be the ultimate one to get because it's still hydraulic steering. GT3 is a great example. New one is undoubtedly faster than ever before, but many will prefer 997 due to MT being available.

So sometimes, newer doesn't necessarily mean "better". And "better" is completely dependent on what you are looking for in a car. Personally, I'm keeping the E92 and adding either an M2 or F80 M3 way down the road.

My buddy and I ran into a dev m4 on the road. The driver wanted to show us how much faster the new car is than ours. We were in an e90 m3 with ess 625. It was like the m5 video above... No contest.

I would NEVER buy a car that sounded like shit. I dont care how fast or how good it looks. And the new M3/M4 certainly doesnt sound good or look good to me.

Godzilla "looks" and "sounds" like shit too, but smokes even Ferrari's for fun,i had one belong me last year and from that day i can only have huge respect for a car that smoked me like i was moving in slow motion !
Doesn't matter how it sounds,but how it fly's ,same with new M3/M4 !
And i prefer the sound of my S65 too, but it's not the sound that makes our cars faster or such as in this case slower !
