tire repairable or not?

I got a small nail close to the sidewall, a local tire shop said it's not repairable, but the technician just wasn't so excited to see my low profile tire so I didn't trust him to work on it, nor his opinion.

It looks like it's too close to the sidewall to be repaired, but i know nothing about tires. So if anyone could give me an expert opinion it would be greatly appreciated.

I already ordered a set of rear tires, but dont really want to throw these tires away with treads left.

I got a nail on the same exact spot while I was driving up in New York City for the weekend. It's kinda annoying how I will have to thrash a $300 tire when it has 80% tire thread left.

I guess we have no choice but to order a new set of rears. I plan to do some epic burnouts/donuts with those before I put my new ones.

Kind of ironic, I think i got the nail when I was driving to Philly lol!

Well i wished my tire would hold air for more than 10 seconds because i wanted to do some epic burnouts on them too :P

I think i jinxed myself on the tire, i was commenting on how my tires were holding up pretty well for 8000 miles was thinking it would last at least another 8k.

Thats a bummer, was in the same boat 2 weeks ago with a screw. Here in NZ the tyres are $1200 each!
