Right now I'm at 2600 lbs dry with a full cage and the only carbon fiber is a fake CF hood which is about as heavy as an OEM hood. Only spent money on a sunroof delete and lexan windows. I think the car is around 2375 without the cage.

Here's my build thread...

OK, makes sense now seeing the pictures lol. Mine isn't nearly that bonkers. I still have carpets in the front. Will get there eventually, but baby steps.
I'd say under 3000lbs requires significant sacrifice and commitment.

If it does rain...

If you're not in the first group going out on track, you should start to see the new "line" being formed by other drivers. Try to sick with that. I would also stay off the apex curbing.

I'd also suggest leaving the electronics on. MDM might be a good compromise.

Having an off and rolling the car in soft grass/mud...that's not a full-send type of scenario.

Agree that people should learn the limits of the car in the wet, but in a safe way. Not all of us have track-only cars.

it rained a bit on sunday... it just sprinkled a little on my drive to work this morning
and we are expecting some rain in the next few days

California's weather has been crazy
we've been in a drought for several years...
then all of a sudden we have over 100% snowcap because we got so much rain and snow recently

The PS4s tires are great in the wet, but if the rears are at 50% or so tread depth, be very careful. Not even DSC will stop you spinning out if you accelerate too early.

Last year, I saw a guy keep getting the rear out in a newer M3 at nearly every corner because the tire pressure was too high. Not sure how the tire pressure could be high on a cold, wet day so I'm assuming something was being done incorrectly.

Ha. You should have seen a 235iR flip/roll over at Thunderhill East and get totalled. It can happen. And actually my last track day was quite moist....

If you have an instructor (you should as a noob) they should show you the rain line. It is vastly different than the dry line usually. I wouldn't just follow the other novices. It's surprising the amount of variance in peoples rain lines, even instructors.

My favorite is running dry lines with brand new sticker R-comps... it's fun, some would say lol. Done it twice in the past few months!

Rain line depends on how much rain. Typically I try staying a half car width off the dry line. Usually works pretty good unless there is a puddle then I just avoid since my rain tires are my dry tires.

So caffeine/sugar to power through the day - and I will sometimes nap on the way back or just stay the night so I get home safely. I enjoy red bull quite a bit, but I've found something better, though far less tasty. Those Yerba Mate drinks have quite a bit more caffeine.

8-10 hour drives, you have to stay the night before - just can't do it otherwise. It takes a day to drive down pretty much. If you do it that way, it's possible to drive the night back if you leave the track early enough and you're not too exhausted.
Damn, I consider myself young but I would NOT drive to Fuji to track on the same day. 30 min session equals 3 hours worth of sweat.

What's so good about it vs. other GT4 lip reps? Their stuff is expensive!

More support studs. It is boxed and would be more rigid.

You can put studs/screws/bolts yourself though.

Not worth it since it's a consumable.

most rep lips are also FG wrapped with 1 layer of CF, which makes them looks cool, but are very fragile....
