Wow that’s ridiculous! I just bought a car back from my insurance company too and the process was a pain too. Good luck with everything!

Hi I m wondering, if you buy the car back before the car goes into the insurance lot, is it gonna come back as clean title or salvage title? In the US, if you buy it back before insurance company takes possession (when the car s at a random tow company lot), it will stay as clean title. Is it the same for Canada or will the car be salvage regardless? Thanks

You can do that in Quebec if I'm not mistaken. It's all fun and games until you own a car that's been put together with two different cars and mileage rolled back 10 years.

Hi Tom Hudson, just read this thread - haven't been on this site in a while. Sorry to hear.
Was this car originally from Calgary? It sounds like one that was out this way from new... Curious more than anything Thanks |

I managed to swap out a few things gas, but the insurance process was ridiculously oppressive and difficult. At the end of the day, it just became exhausting to fight.
I was literally on my way to get rod bearings done and oil pan plug repaired! For those who think Dinan engines are “all that”, they’re not. Despite Dinans new shop preaching 40 years experience, the engine was running stock bearings, and god knows what else. Even though I asked their “performance specialist” when I bought the car about bearings and service requirements, I was told how upgraded and bulletproof they are! Surprise, surprise...bearings worn and damaged cylinder wall! CarBahn answer? That was the old company.... Too bad Dinan can’t remember what he used to build and provide service and tech support for it. |
