Here's what I want to code...

So here's what I'd like to code...

-shut off that stupid gong
-remove the splash screen warning
-DVD in motion
-folding mirrors when I lock
-shut off the beep when I unlock the car (but I like it when I lock)

What is the cheapest way for me to do that? I was looking at bmwwhat but it doesn't seem to do it all... Then I looked at bav tech and that is wayyy too pricey. So I'm not sure which route I should go...

Suggestions?

Roughly $60 to code remotely. I don't recall the UID of the guy that does it, hopefully he see's this.

I use BMWhat, brilliant. Not sure about DVD in motion but believe it sort the rest.

On top the code scan/reset and engine parameter reading in my mind make this app a no brainer.

Buy a cable and do it yourself. Very few coders modify FA_Write properly. That means they code parameters in the modules but if your battery dies and the modules reset as a result.....you lose custom coding. So if you paid for that and it erased you'd be pissed. I recommend buying a cable to code yourself and update modules if they are available. Besides paying someone on a forum is ridiculous! These people charging to help are duechey!

I didn't. Found a local guy and got it coded... Price was right, and he was good, not to mention fast....

Sorry can't help you any more than that. Really happy about the coding though!

I have used Mike Benvo (search BPM) on two occasions and he is a distinct pleasure to work with. He's also been doing this for years, and many on the forum have used his services, so don't just take my word for his reputation. Aside from the performance gains and making my DCT ultra smooth. I believe he can assist with your needs. I had one of the last 2011's without the Combox, and he was able to coach me through the install of the unit and perform the coding remotely. PS: He works a lot of hours so it's best to arrange an appointment with him, he will sell a cable to you and perform the needed coding remotely.

Mike did my M3 and it was great. I needed the radio coded to receive European frequencies for safety reasons because I was living there for 3 years. BMW said that it could not be done.

Mike did it and a few other non-performance changes. In transit by sea the battery had been disconnected, but the coding was not lost. However when the deal installed the NA maps the coding was lost. Mike was able to restore it in no time.

Despite that, would like to learn to code the E9x cars as my wife has one and I would like to add the speed display to hers as well as door unlock (all doors) and mirror fold in.

Alex can do all that for you remotely and it shouldn't be more then a couple of hundred bucks.

I had mine done few weeks back and I couldn't be happier. He can smooth out the DCT shifts too.

Oh... Too bad. I am in montreal and got everything coded already.

I wanted to get bmwwhat but saw they have a new transmitter coming out... I got tired of waiting for it, but will do once it comes out...

How do you like it?
