Right. And the 3 series start/stop feature already had the button located there anyway. So they just reused if for the M3 also.

Has anyone found the precise weight differences between manual and power seats?

CF aftermarket bucket seats: ?
Cost: $5000
Weight savings: 13.8 lbs
cost/benefit: $362.3/lb

The verdict is in: Rationalization for de-contenting
This data is different than what I weighted.
I have BMW Performance seats in my E92 M3 and each seat weights 22 kg (46~47 lbs) incl. rails and brackets.

As far as I know, each standart leather seat w/heating and electric motors weights 30 kg (66 lbs).

I weighted Performance seat myself. I'll weight the standart seat, too.

I set up my M button to suit my preferences (S5, EDC on normal, sports plus, etc. So I think my car which I picked up 2 weeks ago has this new M button feature but the question I have for those that bought their M3s earlier what did the old M button do for you guys?

The press release was not very explicit, but what they were referring to in the note about the M Button is that M Drive is now standard and no longer required IDrive to configure it. If your car has IDrive, it operates no differently than any other M3 in previous model years as far as M Drive and the M Button are concerned. Does your car have IDrive?

Fair enough. Yes I have IDrive and do the settings for the M button through there.
