The 'best' is the GTS but its appeal is also more narrow. For general use the CS is good even as a street car.

It’s a DCT, which for me personally is the gearbox I’d want (sorry), just gotta love those downshifts and probably easier to keep it wound up, the ratios probably suit the engine better also?

Thanks for the exhaust suggestions, I will look into this Corsa system, haven’t heard of it myself, I’ve spent the last 2 days binge watching youtube exhaust vids. Another thing I can’t decide on is weather to fit the OEM carbon splitters or leave the front stock? Some days I like them with, other times I think keep it clean.
I see you are in the UK. I bought a 2008 E92 M3 off a main dealer in Ireland recently and it came with a 2 year full warranty/cover under the "BMW Pre Approved Used Cars" system. A few days later the engine blew and was fully covered under this. I got a brand new reman engine fitted free of charge and a good few other items replaced.
You should ask about this warranty before closing the deal. Every used BMW bought from a main dealer in Ireland comes with this cover. I would be surprised of UK was any different.

I love the CS, especially in blue. I think BMW nailed it with that car and I rarely say that about a BMW other than the E39M/E46M..... I'd love to have one as a 'collector' example but I wouldn't dare rack up miles on it because of depreciation. I'd rather haul an already depreciated modded '15 sakhir orange around town. this is of course me being financially responsible

Agree, with the CS they finally got it right.

Still not enough for me to want one as yet.

Congrats OP, also previous F8x owner here as well.

Get some test pipes and a tune, those two mods will totally transform the car.

I'm coming from an F80 with about 600whp/650wtq and I don't feel the S65 lacking at all in the torque department once you add those couple mods.

Beautiful!

My dad has a '20 Austin M4. It's freaking gorgeous and a quick car no doubt.

But man, it's all about the grins and laughs as you said. The S65 can bring them out in anybody and if I had to pick one car it's the E9x M3 (as beautiful and nice as the F8x is).

Hi mate yeah it will come with the Full approved used warranty, only for 12 months though, I tried to push for 2 years but they couldn’t do it. Think I’d pushed hard enough as it was

How do you feel about the new engine? In a way it’s a blessing, however do they reset the milage etc or just note the engine change in the cars history?

That’s what I like to hear. With our roads becoming more and more strict on speeding, dash cams etc. The scope for going really fast is becoming a lot less. With this car I can enjoy things still fast, but with a more visceral experience.

Nice one. I honestly thought the M4 was for keeps. However it’s a car that was so good out of the box, I had nothing to want to mod on it. Which almost left me feeling a little bored. Only so many time’s you can clean it!!!

One thing I can’t decide on is the MP front carbon splitters, I quite like the clean look, but I also quite like them fitted.... tough one!

Thanks mate! It’s a 41k mile car, seems to have been very well looked after and with my OCD it’s only going to get better and better!

Congrats on the beautiful e92! You won't miss the F80 after about a month in the e92. Once on full boil the e92 feels just as fast to me as my f80 ZCP did. I also get a greater rush from the e92. Something about that 4.0 and 8k RPMs that's special. I never wanted to take my f80 out for a joy ride, but this car I do.

I say no to the two chunks of carbon on the front. They have always looked way out of place to me and mess up the clean design language, especially on a white M. Plus they are easy to destroy if lowered. If I was going to do anything it would be a complete front lip.

welcome to the the E9x M family....if you need to get more power down the road you can always supercharge it!!! Until then...enjoy the Hydraulic steering and sweet S65 music!!! Great find by the way. I'm sure the CS was fun for the 2 years...but your current M will keep you happy and my different Mods available.

Congrats, nice to see you on this side of Bimmerpost.

You're in a different situation since you still have a warranty, but I'd recommend by going with a primary cat delete first (along with a tune) and then decide on the muffler.

I say this because it gives the car a better mid range and increases the volume of the exhaust. I did that AND an Eisenmann Race exhaust (after my trials and errors) and absolutely adore the way my car sounds.

Thanks mate! Recognise your username right away. Yeah I’m going to take it easy until I get the first years warranty out of the way, and I will see about perhaps extending it.

Is the eisenmann race just a rear section?

Absolutely! I can’t stop looking at the Recaro performance seats from AMX in Poland.... stunning!

I bought this car to be better off every month, I can see that plan going out the window very quickly

I think your right... I can’t wait to just get the car on Tuesday. I’ve also never taken the F8x cars out for a random drive.

I’ll hold off on the front splitters in the short term until I see how I feel about the car once I’ve got it home. I had them on my 2015 M3 and when I took them off I couldn’t believe how nice and clean the bumper looked.

Thanks man! 2 days to go, I actually don’t think I’ll be that sad to see the CS go, thought I would be really gutted, I’m just looking forwards to that sound!

Salesman sent me a pic the other day to whet my appetite now my plate is on it.

Looks great, as for me, such cars in stock is the perfect choice, not yet classic, but very "authentic"!

Congratulations!! You actually have a car now, unlike the F gen. Let me stop here before my choice words get me in trouble with SYT_Shadow

Classic BMW style.
Hydraulic steering.
A large displacement, naturally aspirated engine.
Proper hood line that meets the kidney grills.
Real engine sound, not some piped in music through the speakers. Speaking of which, I always wondered if you can over-rev the engine with the sound volume knob?

Anyway, happy driving!!
