Not sure if a repost or not but I will guarantee you the next m3/4 will not sound like that unless that is the sound they pipe through speakers.

We can probably all bet that the next M3 won't sound anything like this. Kinda thinking it won't have a very unique sound at all. I really can't think of any distinct sounding V6s besides Nissan's VQ motors and VW's old narrow angle V6s. Mmmm VW R32 Exhaust note.

Not a chance! The next M3/M4 will sound like a higher pitch version of the F10 M5.

It probably won't sound like the V8, but I think there is still chance that it will sound really good. R35 GT-R, 350/370Z, NSX all have V6 and I think they have a really unique and distinct sound. The NSX V6 really sound amazing with an exhaust.

Yeah Nissan's V6s sound like sexy trumpets... and the NSX sure does sound amazing with exhaust, I wouldn't say too distinct, but definitely sexy.

FWIW, my first car was a 1997 Probe GT with that 2.5L Mazda V6 from the 626. The car didn't perform for shit, and the engine sounded like it was going to explode at 6,000RPM, but it had a great exhaust note from idle to about 2,500RPM.

I think I'm pretty much sold on this exhaust. Now to lurk the FS section for somebody selling... New price is a little ridiculous.

A hot-V V6 will sound very unique if the M5/X5M/X6M V8 is any guide. It's a very interesting sound almost like a boxer-4 overlaid with an MB v-8

There have been some awesome-sounding V6's in the past like the Mazda one mentioned above, the Taurus SHO yamaha motor, the NSX, the VR6. All hope is not lost. But the N54/N55 is a very sweet-sounding motor, it'd be a shame to abandon it

IMO the VQ motors only sound good because they're way too loud. Otherwise they remind me of GM pushrod V6's.

I absolutely love my M performance exhaust. I just wish the road from my house to work was a race track!

The /// Performance exhaust is the best I've heard for a long time. It cost a fair amount to import it from US but worth the money spent. Now run-in it sounds even meatier and deeper. Music to the ear.

It complements the V8 brilliantly. It hasn't been released in Australia yet due to Australian Design Rules regulations.

I can't have enought of it. It's worth driving the car just to hear the /// exhaust.

The VW VR6 is technically closer to an inline engine. I read somewhere that VR stands for Verkürzt Reihenmotor, which translates to shortened inline engine. Single block, single head with exhaust ports on one side and intake ports on the other, I6 firing order... There is only a slight angle between the pistons to allow them to be closer together.

The VR6 does sound wonderful. IMO inline 6s do sound so much better than V6s .

Yeah, the M Performance exhaust is 50-state legal.
