Another round of "What's this noise?"
Hey everyone,
I was wondering what you think this ticking noise could be. It can really only be heard from the passenger side of the car and I can only hear it with the passenger window down if driving by a curb or something that reflects the sound back. The rod bearings were replaced with BE about 4,000 miles ago. Liqui-moly(10w-60) oil change ~800 miles ago but noise was there when using castrol supercar. Car has 80,000 miles. To me it sounds more like an exhaust leak where the manifold connects to the head but curious as to what you guys think. TIA https://www.youtube.com/shorts/UuKGeaFTSGI |

Could be an exhaust leak. When was the last time you changed the oil and is it low?
Sounds like a valve or an exhaust leak. Can’t tell really from the outside though, need a better video down in the engine bay. -Duke |

I love this game. Sounds like exhaust to me as well, my car has made that exact noise up until I switched my X-pipe a couple weeks ago. I didn’t even notice honestly until a friend pointed it out that my *tick* was gone. But sure as shit it’s gone when up to temp.
So may be the donut connection or my previous setup was causing the noise somehow. |

i just changed the gaskets between the headers and x-pipe. It was leaking before and causing a SAI leak CEL on a cold start. It sounds like its coming more from the header to head connection.
