Are you shipping to Kuwait eventually or will you register in Michigan? If the latter, you will pay sales tax at Michigan rates for autos (also based on city and county you live in.) You can pay that when you register the car to get plates in the state in which it will be registered. The dealer in SD would provide temporary tags for transit to Michigan.

64580 + 7% lets say = 69100.60 If you wanna know how much just tax and fees will be then... 69100.60 - 64580 = 4520.60

You can get a credit for the sales tax paid for a new car from Nov 08 until Dec 09 (?). This is part of the Spendulus Package that was passed by those ....
The credit will be deducted on next year, 2009 fiscal year, income tax return. |
