I'm certain I'll be getting a square Apex setup when the time comes.

But so long as there is no reason to question the integrity of my original lugs then I'll wait.

Any of those three seem fine. The only weird one are the 75mm BW studs. The directions say to install the studs with loctite and torque to 70lb/ft...but 50lb/ft will do. I did one wheel like that...I very much regret it now.

How do you torque any of them properly seeing as they have 5mm hex key head?

One drop of red loctite on the bottom thread. Then just bottom the unthreaded portion into the hub. I just snug it, haven't had one come loose yet.

You can also jam two M12 nuts together but the front axle makes it a PIA.

Okay that's what I did last time but I had 3 come lose on 1 wheel. Just a wiggle but still.

I have changed several sets of studs and I've never seen loctite hold up very well due to the heat. It always turns into a white, chalky substance.

I only use a drop of loctite at a time because I'm a cheap SOB and a big bottle costs $27.

Someone did tell me that when it comes to loctite...there is such a thing as too much loctite. Meaning more and more will at some point lead to a weaker hold. Can anyone verify or prove this false? I'm curious now.

Does PB blaster break down the loctite's bond?

Apex sells them too and is priced lower than MS, fwiw. No idea on difference in strength, though.

That explains it. I soaked the studs in PB blaster before I removed the last set. Came out pretty easy except for a couple.

Looked on their site earlier for them and didn't find. Would choose these as I like apex and if they are cheaper. Done deal.

http://www.apexraceparts.com/Studs-Lugs_c_47.html I ordered a set last Saturday and they were to me by Tuesday. Haven't had a chance to install yet, though.
