You mentioned that did a fluid flush / change. How would it look if the wrong fluid was used? Getrag and BMW state that it destroyes the gearbox. When early M's got and oil change at the 1.200 mile service with the wrong fluid (automatic gear is oil instead the pentosin), they replaced the whole thing. I wonder how the gearbox would behave with the wrong fluid. Do you have paperwork stating what was used? |

It's worth checking on your car's driveshaft components to include the Guibo (aka flex disc). Here is a good video example of a Guibo that is failing:
And a failing driveshaft center support (skip to 0:56 minute mark to see the acceleration behavior from a stop):

Update:
So i had the transmission out and inspected. There was a broken bolt that was found. Not sure exactly where it was but the shop is strongly confident that this broken bolt inside the dct was causing the bang off a stop. Mounts were in good shape. |

This is due to a internal component failure. I've in fact removed 3 different DCT's and found this issue. If your able to catch it in time the mechatronic wont get permanently damaged. There is a way to test for this condition and further steps can be taken to permanently fix the failure from happening. |

I'm glad i was able to find this post. I was the Tech that removed the DCT and Inspected the internal components and found the broken bolt. I've been doing a lot of digging into this issue and found the cause and affect. I will be removing the DCT out of my personal M3 and recording step by step on how to prevent this from happening. I believe that ALL the DCT transmission should be checked for this condition before the major bolt failure.

Meanwhile, can you tell us where & why the bolt fails? Until then, I will continue to come to a complete stop & count to 3 when going from R to D & D to R. When parking the car my foot will stay on the brake while I pull the parking brake. I will say many prayers too. Glad the bolt was found.

This is one reason I'm happy to have a 6MT. DCT's are cool, but I've always been afraid of problems with automatics. Plus I love shifting. Hopefully this gets fixed for you!

This DCT (not an automatic) is pretty amazing and reliable. it's a blast to drive and matches the engine perfectly.

Update: I had the broken bolt replaced and put the trans back on the car. I start her up and give it a shot to see if the bang/jump was fixed. Unfortunately, the bang was back. At this point, i was over it and lost interest in trying to fix it. Drove my way to BMW and picked up a new f80 comp. Absolutely love it but i also plan on owning another e92 down the road.

Bumping this as this is the exact issue I am experiencing.
DCT recently serviced with new filter and oil, but the problem was there before. no codes. Has anyone ever encounter this and successfully diagnose/fix in ways that do not include selling the car or swapping the tranny? |

Just to confirm, you have tried: Replacing the mechatronic (fully, or rebuild/refurbished)? Replacing the clutch pack (basket as well? or only the plates?) Addressing the stripped/broken bolt. And a general adaptations reset + oil service for the tranny. None of these helped |
