Interesting video about BBS E88 and its reliability as a motorsport wheel

Applies to basically any 3 piece wheel, particularly for hard track use.

Used a few 3-piece wheels on my E36 race car and the same thing happened. They need to monitored and they are a consumable wear item.

cracks like that are common on tracked wheels. the beauty of 3 piece wheels is you can replace inner barrel outer lip at different times.

Seems the tire size (or other factors increasing stress on wheels) they're running impacts these guys more. I've seen Porsche guys post they've run e88s for years of 100+ track days without any damages, but they run meatier tires setups.

These guys are also running those cars as taxis and lap cars = repeated heavy use.

The downfall being that even a single replacement inner barrel alone is more expensive than an entire wheel for majority of the other common track wheels so it's not even really cost effective.
