Applies to basically any 3 piece wheel, particularly for hard track use.
Used a few 3-piece wheels on my E36 race car and the same thing happened. They need to monitored and they are a consumable wear item. |

Seems the tire size (or other factors increasing stress on wheels) they're running impacts these guys more. I've seen Porsche guys post they've run e88s for years of 100+ track days without any damages, but they run meatier tires setups.
These guys are also running those cars as taxis and lap cars = repeated heavy use. |

The downfall being that even a single replacement inner barrel alone is more expensive than an entire wheel for majority of the other common track wheels so it's not even really cost effective.
