Jeez roastbeef 🤣

RE: catalyst and audio, I didn't like any earbuds with a helmet on. It hurt. I have an HFC xpipe and corsa muffler now. Full interior.

I plug catalyst into the car's aux port and make sure that in the "prepare to drive" screen that aux output level is maxed out. Then turn up the volume a bit with the car's controls.

I can hear the catalyst voice with my helmet on and WOT. Bonus is that the coach is audible in the recorded videos.

BimmerWorld has 21% off all ST brakes, including the 4pot trophy kit F+R.

Yea I saw that, is the net price after -21% actually a good price vs. what other vendors offer?

I think it's hard to find discounts on Trophy Race kits, not many people carry them, just the sports.

I think sub 3k for a race trophy kit sounds like a pretty good deal.

Thanks - good info! Will wear out my set of new front pads, maybe use some of my many spares for my existing BBK then make the F+R switch probably at the end of summer.

My hotboi 6/380mm + 4/355mm BBK will be for sale then

oh yes. it's a tin can with a lot of noise and soon to be running a straight BW exhaust too. it must be a sign that i'm turning old if i'm now doing what i can to protect my eyes and ears.
My ears were numb if I forgot my ear protection (S54). Now a days I have molded ear protection with radio communication. It's still load with the new S62 race engine.

why the switch? ease in finding pads, wheel choice, ability to rotate pads?

- More pad choice
- Possibly better brake bias
- Easier pad changes due to better design

Adam Hume (?) of Buybrakes offered me pretty decent pricing, beat out BimmerWorld. Fairly long wait though, from what he told me most of the kits he orders are pretty much built to order. ~$2,500.00 compared to BimmerWorld's $2,879.55 for a front ST-40R (race) kit, mind you this quote was from roughly a month ago. Several people on here have ordered from him.

Haven't most people with Trophy kits though had knockback issues more than the regular kits? I would just be buying a regular kit personally...

The 3 - It's a great tire - but at an autocross, they're weird - there's always more there than you think is there, until there isn't. It was also my first time competing on the tires, so, grain of salt, but I don't recall ever having such an inconsistent front-end on this car before on any other tire. It may be my near-stock spring rates just don't play well with such a stiff tire in quick transitions, because when I have a chance to really load the tire up on an offramp or whatever, it's easy to balance and predictable, and melts your face. It reminded me of the time I drove a couple friends' otherwise familiar cars (328i and Miatas, both cars I am intimately familiar with driving on the limit) on the original BFG Rival. That was a weird-ass tire too

And for the amount of grip that is there, they are ridiculously well-mannered on the street, at least in the dry. Very quiet (at full tread anyway) and only a little more harshness than PS4S

BTW, the top One Lap of America 2021 dry skidpad result was on the Supercar 3's , according to somebody who would know (minimum 200tw for One Lap IIRC)

Made in the USA, btw.

How are yours holding up on track wear-wise?

I think berns had issues with pad knockback on his 4 piston trophy kit. I'd be ready to buy and install knockback springs if I were you.

Agreed. There is a vast history of Stoptech bbks and knockback. I would buy the springs together with the bbk and run them like that from day 1

m3number86 also had knockback on his ST40.
