What a great day. Back home 14 hours I left, but that included time for lunch and supper en route. Beautiful provincial park - I can see why it has the reputation it does.

Many thanks to:

RO_Turbo, for organizing and spearheading this! Hope the electrician fixed everything with your house right.

dnotorious - who tookover Captain duties after RO_Turbo had to head back home. You're our designated DJ for the next M3Post meet too

BMWNTHZST - for the great print out of our drive route and for a suggesting a good place to lunch (yum, waupooooooos)

M3 Mike - for suggesting those radios. Made the trip funner by hearing the directions... and all the fun conversation along the way!

And thanks to those who came out. Although several more started with us, we ended up being 7 cars who finally made their way to Sandbanks.

Here are some (lousy) pics from my phone. However, there were a few people among us with expensive looking cameras snapping lots of pictures. I'm sure they'll post some soon. We were kinda facing the wrong way wherever we parked for some pictures, so it was hard vis-a-vis lighting. Smudged out license plates whenever they were visible.

We've already started talking about our next trip. M3-Mike suggested perhaps Calabogie with a 3-day weekend (Friday off to travel, Saturday at track, and Sunday traveling back home). Wonder if Duncan could offer some instruction for the newbies there too?

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

For those researching their M purchase or patiently awaiting their ordered M (like me!), WARNING: participating in such fantastic M3Post meets and drives will cause acute M3 fever leading to re-inflammation of your chronic M3 disease, whose symptoms will be harder and harder to control upon each re-exposure.

The pain and suffering will increase exponentially - exacerbated by the lovely summer driving season - and can advance all the way to M3 delirium...

The only cure is repeated, whopping injections of S65 V8 juice - good for your body and glorious for your soul.

Treatment is life-long though.

There is no cure.

Here: Duke of Marysburgh Pub & Bistro, http://www.dukeofmarysburgh.com/

Very conveniently en route (about 20 min from Sandbanks), food was good and we could eat it on a nice patio.

By the way, we also stopped at Salmon Point(?) Very nice, but my pictures were way too dark. I hope others were able to get some decent pics.

I'm almost done editing most of the pics; I had too coz my manual settings where not optimal as much as I thought; I just rammed this one together without any work... just a cheesy teaser for now ..

I am uploading some pictures within the next hr... btw julie there is a torque conversation at the end of the clip; I guess I would have enjoyed a co-pilot for pics/vdos, next time I am getting one of those HD Cameras like mike.

For the music tracks I was busting; I have complied a playlist off youtube. you can download it to your iphone if you convert it using yourtube converter or mp3skull or support the artist.. lol

Awesome; thanks for sharing. It was a great ride and run with you folks. I think M3-Mike has some videos; cant wait to see them. I dont think I have seen so many M3z together at once outside of a dealership.

There were so many moments to remember
  • I was the only E90..
  • Merc on the Hwy Before Grafton; did he just give up eventually
  • my insurance premium..lol
  • everybody has DCT; except me and another M3Post (sorry I forget the name)
  • 20 yr old with E93... life is good
  • Hitchhiker ... "he was clean" 10-4
  • WAUPOOS! me taking a wrong turn or two
  • Havoc rushing to sell his parts.. he made it all the way to sandbanks eventually...
  • BMWNTHZT and undercover cops.. he is a magnet..
  • Julie and her torque.. she is convinced there is some hidden torque in the M3.. Its fun listening to people who are excited to get their M's
  • Rolfs Cadillac wrecker.. we need the address to this place so we can send the remaining lot of cady's to the largest Cadillac impound.
  • Salmon point.. but there was no salmon
  • Red Fire Truck in the sand... ,missing a wheel.. there isnt a pic of this one?
  • 5 Car Pass (legal) ...
  • Unique ride back home with 1 E90 1 E92 1 E93; side by side
  • E90 6MT vs. E93 DCT; DCT won from a roll.
  • and many more...

Safe to say I am now feeling void and depressed now or maybe its just Sunday. I need another event to look forward to; I know some of us are going to Mosport June 3rd, 2012; (least I'm trying too) but if anyone is interested in doing the NurHamBurg (Short) or Long (In Development); let me know; I can organize something in the future..(June/July)..

now to get those bugs outta my car.. (non-electrical)

Me too.

I'd love to go to DDT June 3rd at Mosport but I'll be on the German autobahn at that time (Yeah, I know, you're all feeling so sorry for me)

I would definitely love to do the NurHamBurg

Oh, I forgot another possibility M3 Mike brought up:
- Tail of the Dragon

Guys, there's also BMW CCA Oktoberfest in Sept. (in Ohio) I was actually thinking of doing Tail of the Dragon and the Oktoberfest one in September. Some of our cool American cousin M3Posters will be there.

Fantastic seeing all you Folks again, great Saturday outing, so young we shall not get together again cannot wait for the next time. Driving this M3 and being amoungst fine Folks like yourselves keeps this Old Pete (Alter Peter) young

Wonderful photos by everyone ... my contrubution is below. The first photos (the larger ones) are from my iPhone the smaller ones are from my 5 year old Digital Canon camera (paid $1700- for that sucker back then), goes to show you how fast technolowgy changes. The Chinese hit the nail on the head when one authored the sentance "May you live in interesting times" we sure are seeing great advances when you can take great pictures with such a small device like the iPhone

Photo 1 of 31 ~ No we did not picked the office of the local MP Chris Alexander it was our meeting point before heding back on the 401 to take control of the left lane ... some heads turned, we even managed to get a young fellow all worked up in his (or his dad's CLS 500 ... he did everything possible to get ahead of us

Photo 8 of 31 ~ here are the small photos from my 5 year old Canon Digital camera, I need to dig up the manual and see if future photos can be adjusted in size.

Photo 28 of 31 ~ The beach is deserted right now, still it was a wonderful day nice in the sun some 17 C (nearley 63 F) I bet there be no space on this lovely sandy beach 3 to 4 weeks from now.

Wonderful photos by everyone ... my contrubution is below. The first photos (the larger ones) are from my iPhone the smaller ones are from my 5 year old Digital Canon camera (paid $1700- for that sucker back then), goes to show you how fast technolowgy changes. The Chinese hit the nail on the head when one authored the sentance "May you live in interesting times" we sure are seeing great advances when you can take great pictures with such a small device like the iPhone it sure was a lovely day for a Saturday drive ... thanks everyone for coming out and joining the fun.
Alter P. I am certainly taken back by your pictures and recollection; some of us can can only dream to purchase 3 M's in one fiscal year and that too within our retirement.

Good seeing u, one would never be able to tell your seniority in person; you are definitely living very vicariously and an envy but yet an inspiration to those in your calibre.

Until we meet again...Auf Dich

Here is the Link for you all ... one of the nicest collection of Cadillac's in North America. People come from all over North America and Canada to show up there pride and joy (not only Cadillac's mind you). This year our very own first ever new BMW our 1987 e28 535is will turn 25 years young at the end of this month. I might just give her a spa inside out using the finest cleaning products and take her to the show on June 1st for the big day

---> Check out the Link from past car shows and this years show

Being a car nut ... I am blessed for this place to be only 10 minutes from my house as I said many more old classic cars that will make anyone of you smile from ear to ear

Ask and you shall recieve

Address to the Steve Plunkett Yearly Car Show, 9282 Elviage Drive, London, ON N6K 4N5 (the map below provides direction from Highway 402 Exit 82 going west)

You heard of the Greatest Circus Show ... well the greatest car show is right here every year
