Still waiting for carrier... Is this normal?

Like most new 2011 M3 owners on this forum, I have been obsessively tracking my vehicle's production. Production completed on April 9, 2010, but the status has been stuck at "Your vehicle production is complete and is waiting to be released to the carrier" since then. Is this normal? Has anyone else had a similar experience? I fully expected to have to wait a while for a boat once reaching the port, but I thought it only took a day or two to be picked up by the carrier and delivered to the port...

Mine was completed on April 14th and is at the exit port. Maybe it's a glitch.

Performance Center is quoting me late May for delivery, nobody will tell me when it would get to the dealer if I chose that option. 6wks to get a car here is BS.

Sometimes it will be on a boat before the update is on the 800 #. it took 3 days on a boat before mine was updated.

When i had my first order it took 2 weeks to get into the ship. Ask your dealer where it is as they have more updated information on the location of your car. Usually there is a boat once a week.

Hmm... Maybe there is a glitch. I contacted my dealer, and I'm guessing he saw the same status because he ended up calling BMW. He say they told him it will be at the dealership by the first week in May. I can only hope. The anticipation is driving me crazy.

Mine completed March 25, 2010 and will be at the dealer between 5-12 and 5-15, 2010, west coast delivery.

The updates do lag, so don't depend on them for accurate information.

When did you place the order for your car?

It may have something to do with the Volcano eruption. Most air transit and many container ships going in and out of Europe have been delayed. We don't realize it on this side of the pond but I have customers in Europe and they say it is an absolute nightmare. I'd bet it has something to do with that. Hang in there man, your patience will be rewarded.

I'm kinda upset that my M3 is sitting at the port probably covered in volcano ash, I'm sure they crap gets everywhere.

It cannot be helped I guess.

Displeased with whomever runs the Performance Center Delivery as well (so is my SA).
