Another AFE Scoop Installed

The pieces were very well made and light. Installed it in an hour between beer breaks. Very simple. The great thing is that it mounts to stock points without any drilling and can be easily reversed. Purchased from Nick

All off:

Installed:

As you can see, one side of the scoops slots between the body and the intake.

The other side uses the stock hole with the OEM pressure pin. This picture is from underneath. It is in there tight.

Closed up. Very stealthy, Barely noticeable.

Stuck on the afe logo

Nice. Interesting how you got a e92 m3 and an ISF. Which one do you enjoy driving more?

As many comparisons that have been done by magazines, I personally feel that they are two totally different cars. The ISF is my daily driver. After a hard day of work when you want a relaxing drive, the ISF gives it to you. The shifts are smooth and the car is quiet (though the shocks could use better rebound). When you want to drive aggressively, simply switch to manual for neck snapping shifts and torque galore.

The M3 is the weekend car when you want to have fun. The handling in the M3 is hands down better. It is a better driver's car I think.

Notice anything different with the scoops installed? Notice any power difference, feel different, sound different? Considering purchasing this item. Thanks

Look's good, i'm still trying to decide between the aFe and the RPI scoops. Guess the only differance is RPI comes in red....

I have not driven the car yet, but I am almost sure that you will not feel anything. I am going after the collective: Scoop, filter, exhaust, high flow cat, ecu flash etc...

Thanks. Rpi is not as clean an install IMO. Very minor, but putting silicon on the back of a screw is not my idea of clean. Check out the link.

Nice! I like how it mounts and the fact that it is easily reversible. I like them in subtle black also. Not sure why anyone would want them in red.

Nice stable!

I found the RPI install to be somewhat ghetto. It doesn't install very securely and they are very ambiguous on the exact location to mount it. It matters alot because of how the rear part fits into the intake housing. The way they have you mount it just isn't very secure. The sticky tape they include is also extremely useless.

Aluminum would be my guess because of the weight. Great paint job on it as well.
