It's a phenomenal kit and ~5 years after selling my car...I'm shopping for another E92 M3 to supercharge all over again. |

No idea, but one can easily verify this using mile markers while on the highway.

I know the on board computer in my E36 does not compensate for larger injectors, so it looks like mpg is better because pulse width is reduced and it thinks injectors are stock. I assume car computers have gotten much smarter.
If you are actually making significantly more horsepower, you are using more fuel. It’s roughly 1/2 lb per hour of fuel to make a horsepower. If you are making 100 more hp, your fuel use will be up. But if you are just cruising and making no more power than stock, it may well be that you get about the same mpg and maybe even slightly better due to the tune or reduced exhaust back pressure if part of the exhaust was changed at the same time. |

To be honest the power was so hilariously addictive that even if I had gone down 5mpg average I would not care one bit, it would have still been worth it. |

[QUOTE=tom @ eas;26167625]Upshifts at WOT will always feel a bit softer with 200 more whp as the clutch needs a slight reduction in torque to actually hook. Try finding a local independent with INPA or Autologic and they can try resetting adaptations or look into possibly upgrading clutches and you'll have no problem running full power through them.
Thanks, Tom, I had my local tuner give me the stock EU flash and its much better. But here is another question, I just ordered AA high flow cats (Tunner says my stock set up will not last long) will this cause a CEL, or does the ESS tune fix that issue?

The tune will need to be reconfigured for the HiFlow cats. Would be better off going catless.

I ordered my g1 kit last week. Cant wait to get it. Only thing is seeing what is basically an extensive amount of work to run full e85 is kind of annoying. I have the afd flex fuel kit and a full e85 tune from alpine. Gonna miss the smell and flex of e85.
Going to probably keep my afd kit till i upgrade to e85 stuff. Youtube.com/imschwaggy if anyone wants to see updates and stuff. Will be doing an install video, driving videos, reactions, supercar hunting, etc. Then more upgrades to the kit when i go in the direction of e85, meth, maybe smaller pulley or whatever can be done with the g1 kit. |

When you say power is reduced to hook you are talking about the clutch being able to grab itself and not the tires correct? If I bought a kit and kept my aftermarket GTS tune already on the car could I just tune the motor without effecting the dct tune? Is the reduction in torque between shifts in the ess dct tune itself or is the reduction in torque between shifts in the motor tune? Basically what I am getting at is can I keep my current dct tune and still experience the torque reduction between shifts from an ess SC motor tune? Thanks! |

We do not recommend the GTS DCT flash, we've had much better results (and feedback) with the EU flash instead on the track and airstrip events.

could you please elaborate what kind of better results are you seeing with just the EU DCT? some of the people i know swears that it's faster with the GTS DCT but i'm not sure if it translates to actual drag or track times.

We were seeing firsthand the reported slipping under extended use. The GTS had an additional cooler (and increased fluid capacity), which may have something to do with it. .

Some quick shots of the new heat exchangers included with the ESS G1 kits:

You also have a substantial coolant volume in the system as a whole, any more would just be dead weight.

My G1+ kit came with the new upgraded heat exchanger.
ESS said it was substantially larger then the previous black, plastic end tank cooler that they used to supply, this one also uses different mounting brackets. Just look at the end tanks on your cooler and you’ll be able to tell if it’s the older one or the newer, updated version. |

Mine has the metal end tanks. The post just made it sound like there was an even never version now available.

Performance is similar between both, other than bringing all major components being manufactured in house and the exchangers essentially being bulletproof.
