Jason, just curious, what are the specs of your wheels?

19 x 9.5 and 19 x 10.5, I'm guessing?

285s? mine aren't that wide... honestly, i'm ok with the width. i don't plan to go too wide... i'm more concerned with launching the car.

but i want it wide enough so i will still be tracking it.

Have you ever thought about going wider? I know you have some traction problems so the wider the wheel/tire, the bigger the contact patch = better traction, no? If you were to get the right offsets, you could easily do 19 (or 18) x 10.5 all around and still fit nice, meaty tires.

My friend has 18x10.5 et20 285/35/18 RS3 set up

But in all honestly I have no idea how he got that to work

I do know his springs are smaller, and his camber is extremely aggressive...but that is still really wide for the front.

i have thought about... but all that i talk to say it's unnecessary. For my purposes at the drag strip and occasional track event, everyone thinks i'd be better off with the thicker sidewall and less pressure.

plus i'm pulling from old drag racing knowledge... smaller wheels allowed for better times and traction.

if i'm wrong then i'd hope someone here would steer me in the right direction.

smaller = less rotational mass and less diameter. more rotations on a smaller wheel = better.

what do you guys use to clean the vents? i tried Q-tips, but they dont go back far enough IIRC, also around your shifter little things get caught in between the trim.

i was thinking air compressor?

ohh the cons of rolling with your windows down. yay

Yep, I have some style 95's. Ordered tires for them months ago but they were back ordered so I canceled and I still haven't got around to getting them on. Been working out of State alot and was working on getting my wifes new store ready to open in my off time. What little "car time" ive had gets taken up by my FD, but Ill get them mounted eventually! I think ive seen them on e46 M3 but I like fitment on the standard e46:

There's only 1 person I've seen who's been able to fit 285s on a 1-series, he's from Miami and he rolls 20x8.5 and 20x10s. 25 series sidewalls :0....so me putting 285s on a slightly dropped 135 is the equivalent of you m3 guys rocking like 315s haha
