Eisenmann Exhaust Clamp Question ??
Hello all!
I fitted an Eisenmann back box to my M3 and would like to know just exactly how tight should I tighten the clamps that help join the connecting pipes to the backbox itself? - Do I keep tightening till the gap closes? (See image attached) Also is there anything I should consider?... positioning of the clamp, metal sleeve etc? Thanks! Redmond |

it may not tighten until that gap on the bracket closes, but i would close it until the pipes are completely touching all the way around.

I would suggest tightening the clamp until it's no longer moving on the exhaust piping. You'll want the gap in the center of the clamp to be nearly gone, and the clamp should be firmly affixed in place.
Because of varying clamp positions, the exact amount of tightening necessary can vary. It's important to use prudence when tightening the clamp, so as not to break the bolt.
