Third Party Warranty

Hey all - considering picking up an 09 to 12 e92 M3. As these are a bit older and out of factory warranty, was considering picking up a third-party warranty if I went this route. Anyone ever have good luck with one of these, and if so, any recommendations?

Thanks!

I don't have one personally, but a lot of my customers do. They're great for the owner and great for us. Owner gets all the work done he needs, and we get paid a fair rate for our service. M3's aren't necessarily maintenance hogs, but their parts can be expensive and you usually need to find a specialist to work on them who knows what they're doing ($$$). Most owners with a third party warranty will have it pay for itself in the first year of ownership.

Biggest issue for me is finding a reputable company that will actually cover the m3 (apparently blacklisted along with e60 m5 is its many companies....). Any suggestions?

I have a CNA exclusionary warranty on my X5 - came recommended from some trusted members in the X5 community. Had to use it once so far and they covered almost everything.

No warranty on the M3, it's way more reliable, but a lot of people have them on these cars too.

USAA had the best combination of price and coverage from a reputable company that I’ve found other than if you bought a car from Carmax.

I think if your rod bearings are changed, i would be very skeptical about changing rod bearings

Would recommend picking up a M3 from carmax and purchasing their maxcare warranty as it covers everything drivetrain related along with a few other nick nacks.

sorry i had some Jack and Coke last night. I meant if you bearings are changed, I would be skeptical about spending money on 3rd party warranty lol. Especially if you are able to DIY some stuff.
