Re-Install Parking Brake Cable - Need Help

I was able to remove the parking brake cable, no easy task, but getting it back in has been worse. I had to replace the spindle and rear axle on the drivers side of the car, and can't get the cable to catch back into the mechanism where it activates the parking brake shoes. Any tricks to get it back in there?

Just FYI, I figured it out. I needed to compress the spring that tensions the cable at the hand brake lever. There is a spring in there that you need to compress, which allows the cable to be at its full length, and then you push it through the back of the spindle in the hole, and manipulate it on the other side with a screwdriver/needle nose pliers to get it to seat.
