As cars can be replaced this has left a terrible impact and feeling of pure hatred. I could just work hard all over again and buy another one but I don't see the point anymore.

So I'm going to take a long break from owning anything nice for awhile or maybe even forever .

Anyway enjoy the final pictures of the best car I've ever owned!
Damn that really sucks. I live about 15min from new carrollton exit. What was your car doing out there?
Unfortunate tire incident. The plan was to go back home ( an hour and twenty minutes away) and bring a wheel and a jack back but I wasn't able to come back that day .

Don't you have insurance? This is what insurance is for? Insurance pays you for your loss, you move on and buy another. Common place. I know it sucks. I had a mint 2006 E46 M3 stolen from me and totaled. But I got paid out and went and bought another!

Yes I have full coverage but I was still making payments. Once they pay off the car I have to start all over again. If it was paid for I'd be in the mindset of buying another one

Sucks dude...sorry to hear this. I'm from the DMV and yea, that area where the car was dumped is a warzone. I hear on "not wanting anything nice" for a while. every time I get a new ding or road chip on my car, I feel the same thing. Don't let it discourage though...and yes, these assholes will eventually pay. Think about it this way - their lives probably suck anyway, which is why they have to resort to this kind of activity. Either way, people that live that life don't last very long.

Hope to see you back sometime, sooner than later!

Wow, I'm so sorry to read about your ordeal. That's just an awful situation and regardless of what insurance leaves you, I'm sure the whole situation puts the motives of humanity into question. As noted before, you don't hear about too many M3s being stolen, so perhaps your car was targeted? Looks like they cleaned out your car.

Having written all of the above, am I weird in thinking that the shell should be purchased back and made into a track project car? It would like take some time, but building it back and not worrying about future value really could make the whole thing a lot of fun.

sorry that happen to you. Yea I'm not surprised you're car wasn't there when you got back. Car theft is high in our area, reason why our insurance is so high. You only see cheap POS cars on the side of the road. if it something nice and the owner not around, someone with a tow truck is scooping that thing up and taking it to a chop shop.

It totally sucks that this happened but I have to agree with the above. There are a lot of things I worry about in life but a stolen car is not one of them. Insurance pays, and I go pick out an even better car. Hell, I love my 996 but if it was stolen I'd be at the Porsche dealer picking out a 991 before the ink on the check was even dry.

I do find it strange when people advertise that they're looking for their (late model, insured) car that was stolen; once the car is out of my sight, I don't want it back.

Did you look at the pictures? This is a loss.

OP sorry this happened to you. Surprised at what they left behind (Center consoles trim, rear seat). Seeing how the took the rear quarter panels.

Good luck with what ever you decide to buy.

wow...this is unbelievable!

So it was a shop who stole the car! I wonder if they can be chased by law enforcement to stop this kind of crime.

That's exactly what you build a track car from. Get a wrecked M3 or two and this thing could be up and running if someone was so inclined.

Nah this car is roached. Of course anything if possible for the right price but rebuilding this one would be a fools errand with so many other track car candidates to pick from in better condition.

Only seems logical. when you make something accessible via the Internet, you are opening up a whole new can of worms.

Sad news. Gave me a shiver since I also have a MR E92. as others have said, time heals all wounds and you should enjoy your hobby again.

These guys are not that smart. If your going burn a car you certainly don’t douse the outside and strike a match and leave lol. Put that gas on the inside and burn it correctly. Sucks it was stolen but maybe they are true idiots and will get caught.
