Interior Fascia Flat Black Paint Recommendations

I'm in the process of refurbing my old steering wheel; wrapping it and respraying the trim piece. I'm probably going to respray my A/C Panel and trim too.

Is there any type of flat black out there that's known to do well in our interiors, or will the regular rattle cans do the trick? I've done some searching and couldn't find anything solid.

Thanks!

Painting is going to look like garbage. Buy new pieces, they aren't that expensive.

Don't know about any interior paints but when I want to rattle can something that I'll look at a lot, I'll spring for some good paint from like "touch up direct" it's more expensive but If it's prepped well and applied well it looks good.

Problem is the rubber coating melts after a couple years (faster if you're in a hot climate) and then you're back to square one. Properly clean all the rubber off (important!) the old pieces and spray with matte black paint. Do a couple even coats, letting dry in between. They look better than new and last longer. If it makes you feel better you can spring for a premium rattle can brand.

I heard that SEM makes a good paint for this use.

Thanks for all the advice, I'll look into a couple of the paints suggested. I live in Fl, so I want something that'll take the heat, may look into a matte clear as well.

It's all about the prep.

This ^

They make a great product and many body shops use them. It is all about proper prep regardless of what you use.

Thanks, I was even thinking of baking the pieces after paint to cure. Not sure if it's standard practice or worth the time and risk.
