Gettin new tires.. need help
Im gettin new tires...
Is it ok to run a little wider 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 ? What are the best tires for normal street spirited driving? Will probably do track once or twice a year. Warm climate. Was looking at the michelin pilot sport 4s, PZeros, continental extreme contact sport.. What do you all run? Any advice is appreciated thank you... Ride or die |

The ZCP wheels will happily take the 255/275 combo you mention.
The Michelin PS4s is wonderful and is pretty much impossible to beat. For less money the ECS is pretty decent as well. I run the ECS on my X5 and the PS4s on my E92 M3 If you are experienced and actually will do multiple track days a year you may want to just buy some RE71Rs and mount them on your ZCP wheels. Great track tire with as-good-as-it-gets street manners. If you are a beginning stick to the PS4s |

I am curious about the BFgoodrich Comp T/A being a directional tire. I wonder how they would do on the e92?

Just got my new ZCP rims. Gorgeous. ZCP M3 runs 10mm lower than a regular M3.
I have always run 255/275 35R19 tires on my M3 going back 12 years. Fills the wheel wells perfectly w/o spacers using ZCPs. 245/265 are the stock tires, so this is only 10 mm wider. A warning...Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rears in 275/35R19 are backordered. HaHa... Check Tire Rack and America's Tire for availability. I think 285/30R19s fit as well since the ZCP rims are 19 x 10in rears. Hankook Ventus are well regarded. One tip...Ceramic Coat your ZCP 359M wheels during the process. Another vote here for the Michelins. Many of our customers are happily running the PS4S and several of our staff run and love that tire as well. They last quite a while compared to other brands with similar treadwear ratings.

I have had the ps4s before and they are amazing.. expensive too but probably the best. My dad is an old die hard BFgoodrich or Cooper tire man and he is tellin me to try the BFgoodrich Comp T/A all seasons lol. They are directional tires. Been looking at those also. Called tirerack and they said a lot of porsche owners buy them. Anyone ever have them on their M3? I will definitely go 255/275. Will look at 285 in rear. Never tried that. Thanks so much for all the advice so far.

Do not get all seasons! The M3 deserves better!
The only all season that is decent is the Michelin AS3+ |

275/30/19 and 295/30/19's will fit and look fine in the michelin p4s. kinda heavy, but they fit and work well.

285/30's in the back. Running a 10mm spacer but may have to lose it once the Swifts are on.

There's no point in going 295 or 285 in the rear. The 35 sidewall with a 275 rear works the best. With PS4S in 275, this car does no spin.

right. 295's look good aesthetically. secondary to that, they may help with lateral grip.

Performance wise it might suffer as well because the sidewall will have more movement because of how it will sit on a 10 inch wheel. Also, that bit of lateral grip difference will be diminished by the extra rolling resistance. I’d run a 295 on a 11” wheel for maximum performance. 285 30 might work better but then the sidewall looks a bit small too. Just depends on what kind of look you’re going for. 255/275 is a great setup for ZCP wheels. I ran that with PS4S before I switched to TE’s and they looked and performed great, perfect fit for a 9” and 10” wheel setup. |

i do use a 275/30 up front the difference between the two while eyeballing it is negligible (to me). i can certainly understand if people need to have it exact. i would agree its heavy. problem is, i like the way the 359m's look. plus, the m3 isn't my daily driver and it just sits most of the time. i have track wheels for the track, so weight isn't a huge concern.
