Added another M to the family

Hey guys,

I am so excited to have taken ownership of a 1997 e36 M3. I feel I found an amazing deal on the car. It's one of the cleanest e36's I have looked at. I will be the 4th owner of the vehicle, but the first 2 owners were located in FL and GA. The car was always garaged and never saw snow and very little rain. The person I bought it from only had the car since January and put over $7,000 into the car with the intention of keeping it for the long term. His financial situation changed so it gave me the opportunity to purchase the car at the lowest price I've seen on the Internet for the year, miles and the quality. He only put 1200 miles on the car since January. Here's the details:

81,600 miles - that's only 4,000 miles per year
Ironically, the build date for the car is 10/25/1996!
AW on black - 3.2L I6 with 5MT. The car is fully stock (that will change soon!)
No rust, no dashboard or door interior cracks. No cuts or worn out seats. Original rims are in incredible shape and the previous owner put on brand new Michelins. Completely clean Carfax and maintenance records. I did have a PPI done and there were a couple of issues, but no show stoppers. Needs new shift knob, outside window seals need to be replaced, etc.

The engine is probably cleaner than my M and it runs like a dream. If anyone has driven a first or second generation M, you'll know how analog the car is. No backup sensors or NAV. It's just a blast to drive. The steering and feel is so direct. It also helps that the car only weighs 3400 lbs. which is about 430 lbs. lighter than my e92. I hope you enjoy the pics. Can't wait to enjoy more miles with the old gal. At 20 years old, she's now a classic and aging pretty damn well.

Beautiful E36. I would look into deleting the secondary air pump, as mine was a constant PITA.

OBD2 cars have issues with emissions systems going wonky and throwing errors. There are secondary air pump simulators that are cheaper than replacing the actual unit. Just keep it bookmarked for when yours dies.

Considering it's a late 90's car, OP should check the trunk for bricks of Escobar coke that's likely still stashed in the panels.

After snorting (sharing it with others) it, car and driver will have combined weight of about 3100 lbs.

After I removed the dead coke whore, the car weighed a lot less.

That coke should be considered a piece of history - worth well more than the street value...I think. Maybe not.

I miss the late 80's when things were more pure

people always asks me what's the cheapest performance mod, and it has always been to reduce the weight by removing all occupants and bricks of coke out of the trunk.

Removing? How about snorting it. What a waste.
