I'm also on the stock exhaust running the VT550 as the only mod. Couldn't be happier for my daily driver.
Congrats on your setup. It also looks stock so at emissions testing, at least visual, you have a chance. |

Holy crap, 150hp increase. 100tq.. How much did your SC mod run (roughly)? How long does it take (I'd have to travel)
I've had my car 8 years, have installed my "Bates exhaust," but nothing else really. Maybe its time to spice it up a bit?! What are the drawbacks, does the HP/TQ get peaky at all...for daily driving, are there areas that are annoying? How is the throttle response (quick blips for Heel-toe etc) Would my valve-based exhaust play havoc with the tunes?! Long term negatives?! I will probably keep my car another few years at least (have about 60K on the clock). Thx.

Throttle response is excellent. One thing I wanted was to make sure to preserve the OEM driveability of the car. My wife enjoys this car too and there are times where we want to put the top down and just loaf around. It does that but if you put your foot into it, hold on! It rips! The only annoying thing is with so much power, the traction control intervenes more but also more assertively. I rarely used to turn off traction control on the street but do so more often now. You just better be ready to catch it if things get hairy. I imagine that once we get to spring/summer and the pavement is warmer that this will be less of an issue. The other thing I really like about the Harrop is there is no blower maintenance. I think the centrifugal blowers require oil changes every 5K miles? Doesn't seem like a big deal but it's one more thing to maintain. So far I have no regrets. |

excellent info! thanks for the reply. Im not sure Id spend another 10k on the car, but maybe 1-2. Are the stage 1 ecu flashes worth it?! id be happy with 50 hp more, Im guessing a flash wont do that.

I've had my Harrop SC now for 8,000 Km with no issues and running perfectly! It really does feel like a 6.0 litre S65! an amazing kit!

How has the DCT been behaving with the supercharger?
I am really tempted to get this kit one day, but am curious about how the added torque makes the dct behave. I'm sure lifespan of the clutches would go down, but I'm more curious about the day to day drivability aspects of it. |

@billcruise - my kit is finally installed and I pick up the car tomorrow. I know the dyno on the ESS Kit put up similar numbers, best pull was just north of 500 whp, and 399 TQ.

I signed my M3 up for NoFlyZone Bakersfield April 2nd if anyone with a Harrop wants a friendly run with an ESS 650+ daily driver on pump gas to compare.
