Turner strut brace

Anyone have experience with these?

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1...-brace-e9x-m3/

Are they in addition to the brace that attaches to the firewall? Seems like it would help to better triangulate the existing bracing to the strut towers.

I realize that pivots are not ideal.

I have yet to see one mounted on an e9x m3. I have asked them for pics and they couldn't provide any. I think they may have catalogued this product incorrectly. It doesn't look like it has enough room to clear the intake plenum.

Thanks for the info. The Exx is a solid platform but I'm surprised that there isn't a market for chassis reinforcement without going the route of custom fab work/ race builds.

The existing factory braces, from strut towers to firewall will be more effective than a tower-to-tower brace (like this Turner one seems like). Unless this somehow triangulates it all...the plenum is mighty big so I don't see it happening.

I have a cusco rear brace. Not a commonly used part, but good quality and high and out of the way in the trunk, so I figured what the hell.
It's a brace that replaces the black plate pictured below. The Cusco brace is a little thicker and has tabs on it to tie the two braces together. It's a good design.

this. i wish there was a brace that triangulated the strut towers to the firewall. there is a cheap looking brace made by "ultra racing." i just don't think i trust it.

and look what i found in my image search for the above product! its a bummer it can't be used with the firewall braces, but it looks like it fits! doesn't look like its the turner one, but same concept.

Didn't think there was room there, wow. Where there's a will there's a way.

I think when I get bored I'll buy this one (about $174 shipped) and have my fab guy make a custom tower mount to accommodate the oem braces and this strut to strut brace. I think that would be fun.

I've run across the ultra racing brace on ebay along with a couple other braces they indicate are for the m3. I'm on the same boat though, not confident in the producer.

well, thats sort of an evolution of what we have. ours is just not one solid piece.
the forward carbon piece looks good aesthetically, but it isn't doing much other than looking good.

Have you noticed any difference with that and where can you buy it?

I bought mine second hand. I think bod margains carries it... the brand is cusco.

Hard to tell if it makes a big difference.

I can confirm as I ordered it - didn't fit but I have a larger plenum

I picked up and installed a Ultra Racing upper strut brace for my wife's Audi B8 A4. The build quality of the brace is actual pretty good. It's was light, made from aluminum, and has what seems like good solid welds an the fit was perfect. The only thing I didn't like about it was the the white paint job so I plastidipped it black. It did feel like it tightened up the front end on her car a bit and well worth the $89 I Paid for it
If I can find the ultra brace at a lower price for the M3 I would consider it.

For any of you wondering about the ultra racing front strut bar, this is what they had to say about fitment.

what are you calling the "side cover?" i think they just took the cowl cover off for easier access. if it goes straight from the struts to the firewall just like oem, i don't see why you would have to ditch it. looks like it even reuses the factory brackets. i don't think that person knew- they were just agreeing.
