vredesteins?

I'm looking for a good tire for my daily driver. I have the michelin pilot sport 4s on zcp and they are great but I'm going to save them for the track.

I live in CA and drive year round. 7K miles a year and looking for something with an all season with good grip

heard about a German tire called vredenstein (sp?). oem on bmw in germany. Any one used them?

any other recommendations?

They are actually a Dutch company owned by an Indian company I believe. I’ve heard very good things about the summer tires and have their HP winter tires on my beater CTR. They have been great for me and I will try the summers as soon as the need arises.

Keep your 4s set for the street and buy Cup 2s for the track. Really can't beat Michelins

4S isn't the greatest track tire but they're an amazing street tire.

I ran Vreds for many years. There's a HUGE thread here on them.
They get loud after a couple years but last pretty long and are relatively cheap but the performance tires are pretty old now. Probably better off getting something newer for the street.
The Yokohama's would be worth trying since it's a new tire and there's a $100 rebate.

As for the track, Cup2's are $$$. RE71's are damn good and less money.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Really appreciate all the advice. The 4S's are $400 something a piece which was fine till I had a nail in one and then it started getting expensive. I'll check out the cup2's for track.

I don’t buy $400 tires. But I know some believe that if you have a BMW you should spend as much money as you can on parts.

Yes, but some tires are worth their price. The 4S lasts so long that you're probably saving money in the long run compared to cheaper alternatives.

On the other hand, buying Cup 2's for race track duty is a waste of $$, they don't last that well unless you have crazy amounts of camber.

The Hankook RS4 is a long lasting reasonably priced tire for track/street use.

Cup2's are a waste for the majority of us m3 drivers.. you don't need that unless you're track fast, hardcore. I recently purchased direzza dz102's for $160/tire mid 2018 production just to do fuck boi shit with.. they've been pretty good so far rain or shine on the street/spirited drives.

Conti EC Sport are also pretty good all around summer tires while still being light in weight like the Michelins. I do read good things about the 4S and wound try them but not at $400 each. I seem to run through a set of rears in about 12k miles. Fronts seem to last about twice as long.
