Help me decide on this E90 deal...

Just got back from dealer, and this is what they offer:

09 sedan 6MT
Silverstone II/Silver Novillo Leather/Brushed Aluminium Trim
Premium Package
Moonroof
Satellite Radio
HD Radio
IPod/USB
Dest. charge
Gas Guzzler
MSRP = 61,570
Invoice = 57,080
Drive out = $60,000

I am in Texas, so T+L is $185, and tax is 6.25% ($3579). So basically the offer is around $800 off invoice...

Personally I think it is a great deal, but what do you think? I don't want to over-analyze the deal, but here are some of my concerns:

- car has 70 miles on it, which basically due to lack of demo M3. I am not thrilled about it, since I personally know how hard each of us pushed during test drive!
- lack of Tech package. I read on other thread that it is a must. Would I be regretting it down the road, and lower resale?

Originally I was going to work on ordering with exact spec, but I don't think I would get anything close to this offer...

thoughts?

I also hear the tech package is an absolute must. My theory is if you're willing to spend the kind of money these things cost, it doesn't hurt to either wait patiently for the next deal or else spend a few hundred over invoice and order one.

Sick deal! If you don't care about M drive, Navi or EDC then go for it.

you'll have hard time selling it w/o tech package in the future.

I'm pretty sure I know of that exact same car you are talking about. I live in the DFW area. This car is at Moritz BMW in Arlington, right? I personally don't like the moonroof, the silver Novillo leather, and the standard 18 inch wheels on it. Honestly though, $60K "drive-out" is not too bad....But I would reconsider the options this particular '09 M3 Sedan has and doesn't have. Just my honest opinion. I'm also seriously in the market for a '09 M3 Sedan. I tried searching for the absolute best deals also....Especially on the '08 M3's that are still on some of the lots......But I'd rather be completely happy with all my options that will be on my new M3. Good luck on your decision!

Thats a pretty good deal but you also have to consider it was beat the hell out of by random people and with out the idrive you are going to have a hard time selling it in the future. If i were you i would stay away from this car.

It is the car at Moritz...

Have you had any luck with other existing E90's around here? or are you just going to order to the exact spec you want? What options are you looking to get?

i agree that tech pack is a must, but only for M drive. Single hump looks great to me, and I am not a big navi fan. it is too bad that you have to have Nav in order to have Mdrive.

You better double check the invoice. This includes Dest. + Gas Guzzler

Here is what KBB say invoice should be:

Size: 27.3 KB

I wouldn't pay more than invoice, maybe $200 over if I really liked the car(equiptment, color etc.)

The numbers are the same...KBB has included Dest. Charge and Guzzler tax, mine had not...

$200 over invoice? where would I find this kind of deal?

I can't help you, in your original post you said it did include Dest. and Gas Tax and now you say it doesn't? I was just comparing MSRP to MSRP $61,570...apples to apples your invoice $$ is off.

Honestly, I would try negotiating a little bit more....Say around $58K-$59K out the door. But most importantly, buy the car if you will be 110% happy with it, not only because you're getting an excellent price.

Please get the facts straight ... :)

OP .. here is the invoice price for the listed options .. $crew edmunds (use the confidential invoice posted on bimmerfest instead) ...

50,140
STD Transmission: N/C
Metallic:500
ZPP:1820
Moonroof:955
SAT:540
HD:315
Ipod:365
----------
INVOICE: 54635
GGT: 1300
DEST: 825
----------
TOTAL: 56760
TAX: 3547.5 (do they tax GGT and Dest. I'm not sure on that one)
L: 185
----------
60,492.5

If you are getting it for 60K .. it's about 492.5 off invoice. Good deal .. does it have all you want? .. if not .. no! To me it's NOT a good COMPROMISE PRICE as you can get ordered cars (to your specification) for about $500 over invoice. That means for a total of $1000 more .. you can get all you want. If you're planning to keep the car for a long time .. that $1000 amortized over the ownership period is virtually nothing!

You buy a premium sedan to enjoy it ... not to save a few pennies. Now, if I were to get it for 5K off .. then it would get interesting. I would agree with the post above .. look to get it out the door for at least a few thousand less than the agreed price.

Dude .. what exactly is your problem? I wasn't even responding to you .. I was responding to OP's invoice quote of $57080 .. and that wasn't even the POINT of my post (it was get an approx. difference between ordering one to your spec. and picking one off the lot). I don't have time to read every freakin' post on the thread .. so sue me if it's a repeat .. . BTW .. the pricing is CALLED 'confidential wholesale invoice pricing" .. that's the TITLE. It's no secret .. I don't have it my back pocket .... it's posted in bimmerfest.

Geez .. keep to subject.

No problem here. I was merely pointing out that the 'confidential' invoice price was the same as KBB and Edmunds. I can see why you are so defensive, 'cause you made a stupid "$crew edmunds" statement that was incorrect, because YOU don't have time to read others posts. You just enough time to pop in, barf your 2cents and then go on the offensive with someone who wasn't even attacking you. Everyones time here is just as valueable as yours!

Well .. when you start with "$crew whatever you like .. " .. it did sound like you had a problem .. hence my being defensive .. (not because of an incorrect statement) . Well IMHO .. when it comes to BMW .. yes .. there have been quite a few times Edmunds has had the WRONG info. Bimmerfest never fails .. it comes straight from the horse's mouth. So yes .. I say $crew edmunds when it comes to pricing out these cars .. what are you going to believe .. something that's true most of the time or ALL the time?

How is my statement "incorrect" .. when I said "$crew edmunds" .. it's my opinion .. I didn't say they were wrong .. I just implied I don't trust their numbers!

BTW .. just to split hairs ... Bimmerfest INVOICE: $56760 .. Edmunds: $56765 ..

.. Edmunds numbers are INCORRECT .. ..

My whole point was the invoice numbers, I posted and then you posted, in this case were the SAME. We are all supposed come to this forum to learn more about our cars and to help each other out if we can. I was trying to be helpful in pointing out the invoice discrepency, that's all. And if my colourful/creative $crew comment offends you it shouldn't, it came straight from your post FIRST.
