After 20 years of owning BMW's my wife is finally interested in our E92 M3.
I may have to buy her a new car.
Check out their webpage.
I second that idea. I was at the one in March and...

Wait for it...

at the end of the day, you got the opportunity to ride along with the instructors on the track.

Google "Xtreme Xperience"

You can pay to drive an exotic car with an instructor or you can pay to be driven in something.

Just did 5 laps in a 911 out in Fontana Ca, the place is called Exotics. I did 2 laps with one of the their pros in a Porsche SUV. They also have a track out in Vegas with the same name.

I've read that these places don't let you push the cars. Is this true? How much do the instructors push the cars if you ride with them?

I can only speak for Xtreme Xperience. They let you push the cars. Hitting triple digit speeds.

I also did (City Batman is From) Dream Cars in a parking lot and that was very limited.

I've seen online that this can be done with Nascar but I'd rather be on a track with twists and turns.
How about taking the BMWcca car control clinic? The courses are usually delivered at a track in the parking lot. At the Seattle event, you can catch track rides with instructors in their cars at the end of the day. I went on an incredible ride in a turbo 911 last fall. Plus the car control students get to lap the track at freeway speeds during lunch. Best $80 I ever spent!

I believe kenwelch mentioned something similar what you're talking about. Didn't know BMW offered anything like it. I'm definitely interested and will do some research. That's a hell of a deal at only $80.

rode along with a legitimate professional driver in a modded VW GTI.

each corner seemed like a near death experience as I thought there was no way in hell we were going to make it through.

I never get car sick, but I damn near puked my guts out at the end of it.

the difference between the pros and the rest of us is the ability - and willingness - to put the car on its razor's edge. inevitably, they go over.

This is the exact thing I want to experience. May I ask how you were able to get the ride along?

Just sign up for a DE. Give it a try, see how you like it. Your instructor may offer to give you a ride in his car, and/or you can ask others if they'd be willing to give you a ride.

But it might subside for a bit? Seems like valtrex needs to be refilled.

It was at Lime Rock Park - didn't seek it out, just right place, right time.

My guess is that the higher end tracks tend to attract the serious drivers.

In all honesty, I was happy to get out of the car

M school is best school. And the hot lap in the end will definitely be what you're looking for.

Go to your local track day, and roll with someone. You'd be surprised.

Be cautious about trusting a random person. I've given plenty of rides but think it's something I won't continue.
