E92 muffler with ACM mod and EAS diffuser length tips

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
I'm selling my e92 muffler with the 4 pipe ACM method mod and silver EAS diffuser length tips already mounted. The tips were the perfect length for my Varis upper and lower diffuser that I ran. If you want the OEM tips I can include them as well. Minute Muffler did the modification. They're one of two shops in the bay area that know how to do these modifications properly.

The muffler is off the car and ready to go. Due to size, I can only do local pick up. I'm located in Fremont, 94538.

Pictures below.

That's a steal - GLWS bro. I'd grab it if I didn't already get it done.

It's ACM (AKA = Bypass)

Second photo in the OP shows access welds on the exterior that indicate each end opened up so the pipes leading to the perforated sections in the center of the muffler were bypassed. The perforated sections are only in the middle section of the muffler. If you see the access welds on the exterior on the two center sections, then it would mean perforated method. Perforated could mean all 4 or 2 of the 4 perforated sections were closed up. (most people weld in straight pipe to eliminate the perforations but some do a wrap and clamp which makes it reversible)

ACM / Bypass before mod:

ACM / Bypass after mod:

Perforated / 4 or 2 pipe method addresses the below perforated sections in the center section:

By the way, like m55555 said, at $400 this is a steal. If you were to price this out with EAS you would be over $700 for this modded muffler + tips and that's not counting the install. And you would still need to rivit in the tips on your own too.

If this was in SoCal I would have already picked it up.

Mmm. Thank you. I think I see what you're talking about: ACM essentially becomes straight pipe from the resonators to the back (though there some curved pieces)...they cut the curved pipes that go in/out to the middle towards the two pipes (including the perforated pipe) and insert a straight pipe that connect to essentially the last several inches of the exhaust (the tips)? Am I explaining it correctly? Sorry for hijacking OP....free bump and GLWS.
