Looking forward to more information. Maybe spending another $10k on the E90M3 would keep me happy for a few more years. I’d be inclined to pull the motor and change the main bearings since I have about 100k miles.

This is good news. I want to see what ESS has for their approach to existing customers that want to try out the new setup.

At the price to replace Main bearing its almost better to just take your chances and bite the bullet if it blows..... just my opinion personally.

Good question. If I was in the shoes of SYT, and had a blown engine, I’d be inclined to source a used motor and rebuild it properly, and would seriously consider spending twice as much to bore and stroke it. His motor would probably make me pretty happy. To make me pretty happy with a 4.0L, I would need a supercharger, but that comes with reliability issues.

Have put my hands on the kit the other day, I can tell u the blower only weights 10.1 lbs compared to the 20+ pounds of the vortec. The manifold seems to be the same, but rumor has it the 660 kit, will have possibly an additional wastegate, probably due to making peak boost at a much lower rpm

Can't wait for Ess to make it official! This would be a nice upgrade.

I've been running it for a few months. It's a very well thought out kit and a very quick install for those with a fair amount of experience wrenching. I've since added a WMI and will be moving to a smaller pulley shortly.

I did get the car on a dyno but the shop has just bought new equipment and where having significant issues with the ignition pickup, so I'll be going back another time later on after the additional mods are in place. At around 6k it was making about 300 rwhp. Tq was about 280, can't remember the rpm. As they were having issues with the new setup, take this with a grain of salt.

I'm running this on a 2007 3.0si Z4. Another 07 3.0si owner is also running this. We got his going a couple months after I got it. It's been pretty reliable for both of us.

It is cool that you are sharing your experience. Since we are on a M3/S65 platform how can I relate this to the expected power change from my existing 625 kit?

ESS makes a reliable kit. I am more concerned with the application on the S65 setup.

Sorry, I meant to point out that from what it's done for my power it's in line with the Correct system that it replaced, sso you can probably expect similar gains to the Correct kit for the S65.

Can you post your dyno chart before you upgraded? Then once your dyno guy gets his set up straightened out, it would make a good comparison.
