Rod Bearings for s65 in Ventura County

Anyone know of any reputable shops in the 805 that will do rod bearings in my 08 e92 M3? SSR and MRF are in the OC and I'd rather not have to do a 200 mile round trip commute if I don't have to.

much appreciated

*****Update ******

Decided to go with JMP Autowerks in Canoga Park after getting my oil analyzes. Mohamad was very courteous and professional. He had the car for a week, but the work actually only took two days. Luckily they had stocked up on BE bearings and ARP bolts (due to the frequency of requests they get) so they were able to accommodate me rather quickly -- which is very fortunate for me because @97k miles it looks like I was close to losing a few bearings. See for yourself. If you are in the area I cannot recommend them enough.

EAS and MRF seem to be the top choices.

EAS is about the same distance as the rest. Alright, I might just have to make a (long)day trip out of this. Thanks.

MRF offers great pricing, plus Malek has done over 300+ rod bearings jobs.

Depending on your mileage, you should probably ask him about engine mounts too. It's a great time to get those done.

@ OP I drove down the MRF from SB. It’s not a bad drive and this is a precision job. You want someone well known with a known reputation. Price is right in line with the marketplace. Also, he will swap the engine mounts. If they aren’t 100% toast by now, they’re on their way out I guarantee it.

Is it, once you get RB's done, you're good for the lifetime of the car or up to certain mileage? 50k, 100k?

Should be lifetime. Rod Bearings are not a wear item when functioning properly and not oil starved.

A couple variables to help extended rod bearing life like, replacing the engine oil brand and weight. Most standard oil brands had to remove the "good stuff" like zinc for example due to EPA regulations.
Switching to a better performance brand like Torco, Motul, Redline have better protection elements.
I would run a 20-50 personally.
How the engine is warmed up and operated is key also. Unless you change out the connecting rods for a different spec, it'll always be a replacement item at some point.
BMW finally released a bulletin few weeks back about changing out the 10-60 weight as well on the S54, S65 and S85

I'd love to do that, but with work, life, and a one year old, dedicating a whole day to this is not ideal at the moment and would rather avoid it if I can.

Will do. I spoke to a Mohamed(sp?) and he was very helpful.

Not sure how you came up with rod bearings are not a wear item, if that were true they would not be replaceable! They do last longer then they did in the 50's and 60's but will not last forever.
