I like how they always say the price bargain with the GT-R when
all the dealers are selling them 15-30K over MSRP

People are smart. The GT-R is the best car for 70k.

Why is Nissan limiting production on the GT-R? Is it because the car really costs more than $70K to make and they are loosing money on each one "sold"? If it were a Ferrari or Lamborghini or some other exotic car maker I could understand limiting production to maintain value but what sort of retarded broad based consumer company builds a product who's appeal is it's bang for the buck and then severely restricts production? Sure it's great for the dealers, but what is in it for Nissan? Do they think buzz about the GT-R will raise the image of the rest of their cars? Since they already have a premium brand line, what's the point?
Somebody fill in the blanks... |

From what I have seen, a good number of GT-Rs have deals pending for about $5k-10k over MSRP. Many are going for MSRP. $15k-30k over is a pipe dream.

I have to say that this poll can come out a lot of different ways depending on who you market it to. I also say that the GT-R is the obvious winner due to exclusivity.
As far as which car I think will sell the most of. Porsche! Because most of the people looking for a sports car for that much money are older and don't care if the car goes 0-60 in 3.3 or 4.8 sec. It is about looks and image. |

I understand from the autospies site that the world allotment of 1500 is now sold out. So it doesn't matter the cost if there gone for now. The dealers I talked to couldn't get one or wanted @20th to 30th over list. Glad I drive an M3. The 1500 allotment is because Nissan is losing money on each of these cars.

Nissan is making 1500 of them the first year. Good luck getting one.
I also heard that Nissan wants to make sure dealers stick to the MSRP but I doubt that will really happen. |

I've seen the car at the dealer's a couple of weeks back. For its sheer physical size, I was surprised it wasn't roomier than the M3. It's rear seats are about as useful as the 911's. As Edmunds put it... "...only for occasional use by children and lap dogs" |
