Just makes the car so much more fun.

For my use, I don't feel a need to increase the spring rates once my dampers need to be replaced.

Thanks again for that offer of a ride at the 5 mile, so glad I said yes!

Glad to hear!

IMO 18's is where it's at, even for daily driving.

Join the next one! 2/19 with SpeedSF. I'll be there.

Fingers crossed it's something simple like a fuel pressure sensor…

Codes?

Codes came in, Jordan got me a list of parts to order.
  • P0175 $07E8

Searched all over the net, it's a rabbit hole.

From changing the low-pressure fuel sensor, fuel filter Sensors, 02 sensors, fuel injectors, and replacing Throttle Actuators.

I had the low-pressure fuel sensor replaced last year.

Jordan will pick up the car later along with the parts that will be needed for the next track day

We going to change the fuel sensor filter, we hope it solves the P0175.

The car is currently sitting, I had a rough idle, feels like a limp mode but it's not, after I drove home I started scanning codes.
  • came up with P0175 $07E8

The next day I started the engine, it shook violently on cold start so I immediately turn it off.

I haven't touched it since, probably start it up later and see what's going on.

I also ordered a lot of other things for maintenance.
  • New Spark Plugs
  • New low-pressure fuel sensor (even though we changed it last year)
  • New Fuel Filter Sensor
  • Power Steering Fluid and flush (last time on track, when we were cooling down in the padlock, Jordan and Chris saw it seeping a little?) - Does anyone else have this issue?
  • Motul 10w60
  • New Oil Filter
  • New Fancy Wide Rear Diffuser (gotta look good on track)

Thanks guys!

Hopefully it's not an injector issue

So bad news Chris, we threw parts at it. Engine idle sometimes does drop, sometimes it doesn’t.

Was pulling in 3rd, the car choked, felt a forward jerk motion.

Engine was still on, car was rolling at 40MPH, I was in 3rd.

No errors on dash.
Mechanically feels like the engine is fine, sounds beastly.
No weird noises as of yet.
No weird smells.

I shut the car off, hop on the freeway and did some 6-9K pulls in 3rd and 4th. No issues.

Everything sounds and looks great.

Exit off, stop at the light. Slight drop in idle, went back up and stayed.

Did some small pulls till I got home.

Stop at red light slight random drops here and there.

Right now we think it’s the injectors. Fuel starvation type of deal.

Ordered new injectors.

I hope we get this fixed before next event with Turn8.

Might be it, I ordered new ones. It’s gonna be a new car by the time we figure this out. Just throwing parts at it right now.

Found this with a google search of "BMW P0175"

https://www.engine-codes.com/p0175_bmw.html

If I'm reading it correctly, sounds like a too rich condition that the DME can't adjust for?

Could be an injector or three, but could be some other things as well.

Thanks buddie! Yeah, the injectors were ordered.

I also got a quote for 2x used fuel pumps. If this doesn't solve it, I'll buy the fuel pumps.

Also, you can send your injectors out to be tested.
A test of the old ones would be good knowledge.

Probably vacuum sensor. Easy for brake fluid to get on there whether during a change or if fluid is near max and you are tracking car. $17 on ebay. Nothing for ignition coils?

Woooo, okay I'll check the vacuum sensor too.

Interesting! the brake fluid was seeping after a couple of hard runs.

No errors for ignition coils, but they will be replaced soon.

At the moment no CEL or warnings.

Buy someone electrical contact cleaner. You might be able to salvage it before it actually goes. Either way you'll want that area clean of brake fluid.

this actually happened to me, brake fluid seeped onto the sensor and caused limp mode and everything, since the car wasn't able to detect abs pump pressure.

bought a new sensor, cleaned up the whole area and all fixed.
