Hoonigan Weekend | Warning: Photo heavy.

A couple of months back a few friends and myself were driving down PCH in Malibu and saw an E36 M3 that reminded us of a friend's old car when we had first got our licenses back east in NJ. Later on in the day we bumped into the car again in a parking lot in Malibu. As we were telling the owner how much the car reminded us of our friend's car, he then told us he bought it off of the person our friend had sold it to years back. Seeing the NY license plate on the back of the car made us realize that this car did in fact follow us out here, what a small world.

Turned out the M3 owner, Vinny, works for Hoonigan. We exchanged numbers and checked out their classic BMW event this weekend at their HQ in Long Beach. Despite it being predominately vintage, James and I were encouraged to bring out the E9x's, so we happily obliged.

Aside from the classic BMW's, Rob and Hert brought out their beastly sponsored JDM drift monsters and put on a show for those who stayed late. Pro drifter Andrew Hateley kept his E30 drift car at home, but still had a ton of fun in his E28 doing some nice donuts.

Sunday we met back up and grabbed some breakfast followed by canyon runs out to PCH and hung out along the coast with the Hoonigan folks and Larry from Speedhunters.

Then they realized Rob set his car on fire, but being that it's Hoonigan, it's a rather common occurrence so they casually grabbed the fire extinguisher and calmly put it out.

Hand throttle and brake controls are

Then Hert came out and put on a little show until his intercooler pipe blew off.

Then some photos from Sunday after our canyon run.

I like that the absence of window tint has been trending Cars look so much cleaner.

And how bout the values of E9's lately? They've sky rocketed - I once figured owning one was an attainable possibility...

Fishbowl is the way to go.

I know! All of them are getting pricey. I got my 2002 for a very reasonable price a few years ago and now they've tripled for pretty decent examples. Forget about super clean ones, they're nearing $20k. Even E21's are going for over $6,000 which is nuts.

Yeah 'Coupe King' is responsible for all of the cars up on the top deck minus the blue clarion square tail on the end. The work they put out in all of those cars and the CSL's is absolutely insane.

Damn Matt, your E90 is seriously looking on point. I desperately need to go out and detail so it can look that clean.

Thanks, go do it! I know you have a few cars to maintain so it's not as easy, but it's worth it.

Just stumbled across this gallery.

Your pics are OG Donut Garage and awesome. Way before they put up the containers to block people from just showing up.
