Inflation? My grandparents never understood that either. I told them I should be getting more money at the age of 21 than I was at the age of 5.

Good luck BMW, I hope this all works out and that next gen car better be damn good. Excuse me, great.
My sense is that, since it's still selling well (and demand even exceeds supply), there is nothing that BMW feels it *needs* to do to encourage sales. So nothing they would need to add.

I think BMW M still wants to bring out special, limited edition(s) models for the end. But I think they will be offered at the end of the cycle run. I also wouldn't be surprised at an announcement at the M Festival later this month. Scott26 has hinted at that a couple of times.

But I'm not waiting any longer. I've already waited long enough.

I don't think the E90/92 M3s will have any increased value for being the last NA and only V8. I think once the new model comes out and reviewers talk about how much better it is than the current model, almost everyone will jump ship.

That said, i do think that end of cycle models, such as the 05 and 06 E46 M3s may be perhaps a little more sought after due to the fact that the general consensus is that they're the most-bug-free, most sorted out of that generation. Especially when they have desired options that were introduced towards the end, like the competition package (whether or not the E9X generation competition package actually is deserving of the greater interest - there's just that perception and why you have jokes like "Civic M3" when M3s don't have it).

Except for the fact it is the only V8 M3..this could have some cache. I know I'm not even considerinig a F3X M3....I would be moving on as I am a normally aspirated guy.

Maybe not in the beginning..but later on down the line it could command more.

It's unfortunate that a bunch of people bought the MY12 thinking they got "the last of the V8s" and now there's a 2013... Welp!

I would buy a used e9x instead. And agree there should be some special colors offered to incentivize this and make it more appealing.

I was going through it with my dealer and he noticed that under the Premium Package, there is an option for Piano Finish Black Trim. That looks to be new, but besides that I'm a little disappointed that no new colors are available. If I wasn't planning EuroDelivery, a slightly used one would probably be a better decision.

literally the SAME car as compared to 2012 in standard equipment, option, packages.

I honestly doubt if there are HIGH HIGH demands for M3.
Obviously this is an M3 forum after all, and me being an M3 owner we would all agree this is the last, best NA screaming engine.
But to the general public this is just a big V8 that does 15mpg and costs $1300 gas guzzler tax.

Beast Charmer, this is very interesting.

That "Piano Finish Black Trim" has the same code (XE8) as the Individual Piano Black Trim.

Part of the reason I checked the (Canadian) Individual Pkg option box was to get the Piano Black Trim. Give its non-availability on orders without an Individual VIN (at least in the past), its price and adding in the labour for a retrofit, the extra cost for the individual paint (in the Canadian package deal) would have been small. It looks like it's now a no cost option in your (US) premium package. I will have to watch for its availability here...

Just re-looked at it closely. Only for the convert.

Did you guys always have shadowline exterior trim standard for the coupe? if not, it's standard now.

They are As we found out at the NY auto show, demand for the M3 coupe/convertible was running at 4 times the supply.
The problem is its all bs until ppl get credit or can cough up cash to buy. Demand at 4 times production also means my car just went up in value which we all no thats not true. So statements about supply and demand from autoshows and surveys are all fluff normally.

It wasn't meant to be a study in economics or thesis on how it affects the price of your car. Merely a short statement that demand is still quite high relative to supply heading into the car's last model year. Take it for what it is.

So true, and not to mention the allocations have shrunk a bit.

enjoying my E92, can't wait to see how BMW does the next one. Should be epic no matter the engine configuration.

Personally, I believe NA petrol engines are history because of fuel efficiency rules. Nothing wrong with a blower...

I know there is nothing wrong. But hopefully they will recognize that there is still a difference to us. Regardless of how good those turbos are.
