The only other color besides black that you could pull off on the stock calipers without looking like a total ricer is Silver.....IMO, of course.

The M5 owner w/ recently painted stock calipers says GO FOR IT....haters gone hate....enjoy your car however you see fit

I went with yellow because of the strong contrast it brings to my gloss black wheels.

The stock calipers look like $hit. Case closed. Painting them any color is an improvement. I did red calipers with a real cf layer M logo and I love how it turned out. I only get compliments. But this style wont appeal to everyone.

Wow, those look fantastic. How'd you get the real cf layer? Because I have JzB, I'd really like to go yellow... but red would still look great, I think.

This thread reminds me of when we were kids & a buddy drilled holes in his muffler because he didn't want to buy an exhaust -

I will admit that that's the best I've ever seen the stock calipers painted.

I generally would say leave the stock brakes black and reserve yellow and red for real BBks, however, this by far is the best stock paint-job I've seen. Though you got to loose the fake carbon fibre rims as they look horrible IMO.

it's real cf overlay. I don't think they make pure cf rims. These are old pics. I painted lip black with red pinstripe. It's purely cosmetic. I own HRE and advans in 19s. But I only get major compliments on these. can't please everyone lol.

I decided to go for it and paint my calipers. I used the Dupli-color Caliper Paint with ceramic kit. It comes with a can of brake cleaner, masking tape, a paint brush, and a 8oz bucket of caliper paint. Obviously, the benefit the benefit of using a paint brush is that you can paint while the caliper is on. The downside is that there is some evidence of brushstroke and this stuff is like glue once you start painting, so you'll need at a minimum one paint brush/wheel. The rust on the rear calipers was killing me. Here's the results:

Just so you guys know, I'm having a professional paint shop do it. These guys restore classic cars, but they can do wraps, painting, whatever. They've been restomodding my dad's classics, and they said they could do the brakes any color I'd like. They're very professional, so I'm not really that worried.

The red, black and white calipers all look great. Now I definitely feel more comfortable doing this.

$20 and 1 hour if you wanted to go black. I probably wouldn't DIY with any other color.

Way to go for it, OP. Make sure to post pictures after it's done. I've never been a huge fan of the look but some of these pics are great...now I'm wondering about a color for mine!

Tischer sells a red caliper upgrade for anyone interested. It is the exact same caliper that comes on our cars however they are red. They are 303 for the rears x 2 and 383 for the fronts x2. Spoke to Jason at tischer and he said he will do a group buy of 5 of us for free shipping. I have not purchased yet so obviously no pics but its our existing oem caliper in red. If you are interested in a group buy with me send me a pm

I don't like the stockies painted a bright color because they aren't usually great looking and small so I got a Stoptech kit. However I remember seeing the Black Edition Frozen Black M3 in person and it comes stock with Red Calipers and matching stitching inside. I was surprised that they were OEM calipers, that they looked that good and more surprised BMW actually painted them from the factory that way. Torn, but it looks pretty good.

Yup those are them. Nice find on the pics. For anyone interested in the look and don't need the increased effects from a BBk this seems like a good buy at ~1500$. If anyone interested in doing a group buy let me know
