5mm Spacers for track
What are your guys opinion's on using 5mm spacers in front due to a 275 square set up and KW clubsports.
I've heard that is it not wise to use a spacer that is not hub centric. Any input on this? Would it also benefit to use 5mm spacers in back to even the stance? Thanks, |

A 5mm spacer still leaves plenty of room on the 'lip' for the wheel to attach.
I run 3 and 5mm spacers frequently. If I need something larger than 5 I'll go to a 10mm which is hubcentric. 7mm, which I also have, doesn't give the wheel enough space to hold on to the lip |

Nothing wrong with a properly installed spacer.
The hub is to center the wheel into position, the studs/lugs fasten the wheel.

Putting spacers on the rear of the car is up to you. Go for it if you want to. The other thing I recommend is that you get wheel studs so that you have the flexibility to use different size spacers without having to keep track of a bunch of different extended lug bolts.

It's up to you. I personally prefer a flusher look even at the track.
If you're going to get studs --highly recommended-- I suggest the Bimmerworld Race Studs. There's a 10 page thread about studs somewhere and it was clearly the consensus opinion. |

Extended fasteners are required. They come included with the Macht Schnell spacer kits

Lot's of mods since I last started this thread. I've upgraded to KW CS, PFC Z54 front brakes, APEX 12mm studs 75mm, APEX SM-10 18x10 w/ nitto nt01 275 square. Camber will be around -3.3 to 3.5.
When I place the wheel on the hub with the front 5mm spacers on. The wheel will not stay on the hub and slide off onto the studs. It looks like the rotor hat for the PFC brakes may be thicker than stock, as well as the chamfered wheel is really reducing the hub availability. Not the most confidence inspiring for the track. Would upgrading to a hubcentric 10mm be a safe replacement? If anything for piece of mind. |
