I had some codes read then cleared and the pan/gasket done for a total of £250. This year I took the BMW warranty with a £250 excess for a lower premium, I think next year I'll go back to a lower excess and a higher premium.
So yes although it would be covered under warranty they just charged me for the parts so they didn't have to bother making a warranty claim - I have no idea why, but it was the same to me either way.

This happened to me as well on an 11.5 with 38k miles. Dealer replaced under warranty. They probably don't sell the gasket separately because the problem is that the pan is warping. Hopefully the newer parts have been improved. Can anyone advise if there is a different part number for the newer pan?

That looks like an easy fix since it's the bottom pan. Costs only $140 from Tischer. Some folks had to change the gasket on the side (Part# 28607842856, #2 on the right side picture) and that is not a easy DIY. I heard there is not enough room to get a wrench in there.

You said the car was under warranty, no? You could've gotten it fixed already

Extended warranty. Who knows whether they will cover it or not? No harm in identifying what's needed. Don't see anything wrong with being prepared. besides it may help someone who is out of warranty. Isn't that the whole idea of a forum

Chalk up another DCT with a slow leak. Took my car in and they replaced PN 28-60-7-849-555 -- an O-ring (#8 in the right pic)

In the work order it said it was coming from the mechatronics sealing sleeve and they had to remove the transmission to get to it. I have about 8 more days of warranty left so hopefully that really is the source of the leak.

As a bonus on the way home I got a rear tail light malfunction so I get to go back again tomorrow.

Wow.. When it rains it pours. Good luck with the fix.

Yeah I think mine will be the same though it looks more like the gasket on the pan. I have the extended power train warranty and hopefully they don't give me grief about covering it.
