I've always wondered why so many people have problems with these getting damaged. What are you doing that rips these things off? It's been a problem for almost every car I've ever owned, but it has never personally happened to me.

Off-track excursions?
Deep snow?
Very low ride height?
Missing/damaged mounting screws?
Lots of steep driveways/curbs?

Very low ride height + terrible luck with random objects in the road.

I've been waiting for one. I'm in! Hopefully it's less than the $350 worth of the felt/poly pieces.

We don't have to *do* anything. There's road debris all the time. A few months ago I had to dodge a *car battery* while moving at a 70mph clip as I was cresting a hill....on the freeway. I was able to avoid it, but there are plenty of things that people, unfortunately, run over that tear up these trays.

What is the function of the opening in the middle of the undertray?

Mine was torn running over a palm frond on the road (had no choice, as the lane next to me was occupied). Easy replacement, but awfully expensive for what it is.

I drive my 08 E90 about 8k miles a year, year round, including winter. It is lowered on the mild H&R springs and that is probably what causes most of my scraping. I'd say foreign objects in the road are not the big issue for me. Its more scraping when coming down a steep driveway onto the road. My parts have not come off, but are badly damaged (and zip tied and pop riveted together), after 83k miles and 9 years.

If you have stock ride height, it should take much longer to damage this area. If you just drive the car occasionally in good weather, it should take much longer to damage this area.

Armadillo at 60mph... its like hitting a bowling ball. It shredded my center piece. Also blood and guts all over the underside of my car. Smelled horrible burning on the exhaust/test pipes! Lol

My center piece was fine but the two edge pieces were wrecked when I got this car a few months ago. I thought it was completely nuts to pay 80 bucks for one of those flimsy plastic pieces heh. That's why I looked into this to begin with.

I ripped the darned #23 piece off by running over a tire fragment gator on the highway. I normally leave extra space to the car in front for evasive action, but this highway segment was extra busy and I had no chance avoiding the gator; made a big bang and took the piece as well as two holding screws with it...

I would be interested in one as well, I have similar concerns as others above.
Fitment, price point.

The transition from the road and our shop is horrendous, the city has built up the road so much over the last 60 years, the gutter is nearly a trench, we have put in metal plates, but they aren't quite wide enough

Yes! would be cool if it was like a underbody diffuser, that went half way to middle of car or at least a portion of the way.

I love their stuff and all, but it usually comes at a premium. As long as the product is comparable in quality and reasonably priced, I'll almost always choose to back an individual taking up and resolving a cause over a company.

I've been driving lowered cars for nearly 20 years... the M3, even when lowered, still has plenty of clearance in front. I'm used to going up driveways at an angle and to slow down for speed bumps and such.
