Taking Delivery on the 2012 M3 next week!

So, back story here: I've been in love with ///M cars since around 2000 when I was a Corvette owner and a friend with an M5 introduced me to the M cars and what they are about. Shortly after that I see the new E46 and that was it for me, I was sold. An E46 was never really in the cards and although I still love the E46 bodystyle, I ultimately decided to go with an E92.

Fast forward to today, I am 2 weeks out from owning my dream car. It is scheduled to deliver on Friday but due to details I will not bore you with, I will not be able to take delivery until next week. I have a long time friend that works at the local BMW dealership that said it would be no problem for them to "showroom" my car for a week. Here is the real kicker, I work around the corner from the dealership so it will be impossible for me not to go "visit" my car every day until I take delivery. HA! I'm hoping to be there when they unload it from the truck so I will post pics.

Here is what I am waiting on:

AW on Fox Red extended with DCT
(I know, I know... not another AW! =) but I just love that color combo. Good thing is that an M3 is a rare find where I live in Northwest Arkansas.)

The wait is absolutely killing me!!

okay, in my defense there... I have had two 6 speed Corvettes in the past and that DCT is just too much fun to drive!

my story was I couldn't take delivery for about a month. Was waiting anxiously. The last 4 days were the worst. I was biting my finger nails.

I bet! I stopped by the dealer on my way home today, I guess it makes it a little better that my SA is a long time friend and I can just go in and BS with him whenever. I've already told him that he may see me every day from now until I take delivery and I may come sit in it on my lunch break. I literally work less than a minute away from the dealership so it's just too easy to stop by. I bet they want that car here just as much as I do to get me out of their hair...

I think it was around a week, give or take, to make it over on the boat... It breezed right through inspection. My SA said they very rarely get held up on the US side because the model has been in production for a while now. When they move to the new body, there could be some delays initially...

I have my camera with me today, they said there is a chance it could be here between today and Saturday. He is supposed to give me a heads up so I can jet over there and get some pics of it coming off the truck.

Fresh off the truck, here are a few iphone pics... The last few are some shots under the car while they had it on the lift. I thought this was kinda neat, the ///M stamp is on several components under the car.... I had not seen this before.

What part of NW Ak, I have family there in Springdale for more than 25+years. I have 2011.5 LBM color here in NY. . You are gonna love this car. Congrats. Trying to convince my cousin down there to get one.
