PDX area OEM exhaust mod

Has anyone in this area had the OEM exhaust mod done and would recommend a shop? I have been quoted by one shop that had experience with it but the price seemed very high compared to what others have paid.

I went to Lab22 in North Portland. John's welding is top-notch and the results speak for themselves.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay? I was given one quote however it seemed absurd.

This was a few years back, however I believe it may have been $450? I am having a difficult time recalling.

Hi there from out east. I'm in the process of gathering quotes for this mod as well.

I suggest reaching out to local welders also. It seems requesting a quote for "work on an exhaust" from someone who welds all day doesn't command the same premium as an autoshop would for "modding my M3's muffler."

I attended Portland Cars & Coffee this past, very-rainy, Saturday with the 359M wheels and Pilot Sport Cup 2s; a true pleasure/terror in some instances around standing water (my E88s are being re-worked for a new look.) I was surprised to find a short video of my E92 emerge a couple days back. Here it is--Lab22 modified OE exhaust muffler and a GT4 mid-pipe:

What you may notice is a very grumpy start, the result of the car having been retrofitted with the new BMW Assist and not yet being re-flashed to accommodate the Akra GT4 mid-pipe and thus, throwing emissions codes that negatively impacted the characteristics of engine. I was able to tend to the flash later in the day with input from Mr. Benvo at BPMSport (whom I cannot recommend highly enough for his products, not to mention customer care.)

Good god! Sport cup 2s and any standing water sounds horrifying. I knew I should have gone last weekend! That exhaust sounds perfect!
