1. Tested out my new power washer with foam nozzle - really nice for an electric washer under $200.

2. Getting some new suspension goodies ready for install.

3. Ordered new black kidney grills from FCP. Been wanting to get rid of the M stripe ones that came with the car.

4. Got half of my busted side mirror fixed. Now I just need to find some used glass that won't cost me $400.

That could be, but I'd also be concerned there might have been a GTA attempt, someone working the door with a slim-jim. Has the door worked since you bought the car? Or is this the first time you've ever tried to open it?

Door has always worked, I just noticed it when I detailed my car last week

Testing out Sonax Cut & Finish finishing with a Meguiars 3 in 1 wax with 3" DA. I might work in Meguiars 105 instead to get a better cut. Either way anything is better than nothing.

Megs 105/205 combo worked great with 3" and 5" DA polisher on my space grey M3. Started 105 on microfiber cutting pads and then moved to 205 on medium polish pads. Worked very well. I used pad conditioner to keep the dust down too.

I am always amazed at how car polish can correct so many defects.

Well, today I did a lot of prep work for the future. Replaced the motor mounts, though the ones in there must have been replaced in the last few years as they looked like nearly new Corteco's just like the ones I bought, if compressed 2-3mm.

Then I put in new idler and tensioner pulleys and new belts. Old pulleys were original (38k miles) but could tell they were already a bit dry inside compared to new. Could likely have gotten another 20k out of them, but since I already had to get in there....

Finally, dropped in a new set of plugs, though again they looked practically brand new. I went back through the PO's paperwork and nothing about the mounts or the plugs, but he was the type to do that kind of stuff prior to a sale.

Anyway, it's almost Harrop time!

If one has a goal of only the rear section you simply cannot beat the OEM mod. It's such a perfect tone and volume IMO. But among the official rear sections I think Eisenmann race, MPE or meisterschaft are hard to beat.

I just knew I would want to try the akra some day so might as well start with it before they are impossible to find.
I just added the MPE (used V2) to my otherwise stock E92 M3 and to me it is perfect. Adds just enough growl to sound exotic and enhanced, but not too loud or droney, which would drive me crazy in the cabin if present. And when opened up, is heavenly.

Couldn't agree more, and I think this is particularly true for the E93 where any more noise out back would be intrusive.

Got some photos back from last weekend's San Diego Bimmerfest meet.

Got lucky with some sick rolling shots of my alpine white and frozen gray.

Enjoy

Awesome! So, any smoky burnouts yet, lol? How you liking it thus far? Worth the investment?

I should be dropping mine in tomorrow. I doing mine a bit out of order since I already had most of the front of the car disassembled. I did all the plumbing and intercooler stuff today and will drop the SC on it to finish.

I asked my local speed shop to change my original plugs since I had 50k on them. The owner of the shop said that they looked nearly new and that I could easily get another 25k out of them. Strange.

Changed the spark plugs since I don't know when the previous owner had them done. Was expecting it to be more of a pain that it actually was, cylinders 4 and 8 weren't that bad at all. Not sure what to make of the threads looking "wet", it doesn't smell like oil. Anyone think anything is out of the ordinary here? 69k on the engine, no misfires/codes.

That is generally normal to some degree, so long as there is no oil/fluid in the spark plug holes. It is likely just a residue of fuel/oil/carbon that has come up from the cylinders. Plugs are wear items, and while they may look ok the gaps are likely wider than required. They will still work but not as well as new ones. I think I have read 40k miles is a good average to change them, but of course how the car is driven and various mods (SC for example) will have a large effect as well.
