In other words, to adjust damping, is there a knob located at the top of the shock tower. Some suspensions (..like GC on the E46) were/are bottom adjustable, and required removal of the wheels to adjust the damping.

yes there is a key that fits into the top of each shock tower to adjust the dampening.
