I went with Akrapovic and now what...
I have the full titanium Evo Akrapovic exhaust setup.
I spent a few days with it plus a new tune in my car. Feels great. Backpressure is noticeable for sure compared to my other exhausts due to the smaller diameter. Sound is very motorsport-y. But wow, quiet... high flow cats are good for smell, but it's so quiet! I may go GT4 X-Pipe? What would you recommend for a bit more sound? Or should I trade it for something else? Make my own? This is my 19th exhaust... I still haven't perfected the S65 sound yet. I need headers I think next... |

I was with him about 3 weeks ago in the canyons. His car is mean! I ran Bomiz on my E90 a few years back. It's very loud, but I will go with high flow cats again for sure due to smell. I had Valvetronic too, insanely loud. I had IPE as well, raspy and loud. I liked Gintani Race, but a bit of drone... I'm all over the place, lol. |

I'd consider chasing the full American Racing setup Obsessed Garage just put on his e92. Sounded really good in his recent video.

14:50 time stamp. ARH and mid section with Active rear. I personally think this is one of the best sounding setups; basically just amplifies the S65 noise without changing the character too much.

You already have an Ace up your sleeve with Mike @ Precision Dynamics ... use him! See if he can tweak the current setup and possibly modify the electronic baffle to get you where you need.

Depends on whether u prefer a deeper bassier sound or a higher pitch raspier sound. Headers will give you a deeper growly sound.

LOL, yeah! I went with Akra so that it would not be too loud, as my neighbors and the HOA would not approve! But it is a proven, complete system that works very well while not rattling the neighbors china! 😆

Evolve x-pipe paired with Corsa or eisenmann sport will give you more volume, but not be too obnoxious. With that said, no system gives you the same weight savings as the Akra, which is plenty loud for me and will be my choice.

If I were you I would experiment with different x pipes before selling the whole exhaust. Akra slip ons change dramatically depending on the x pipe used and whether catless, high flow cat, or catless resonatorless... as seen with the post above.

Spencer, have you considered stripping the carpet. Sound deadening, trunk, back seats etc. looks like you're going race car with your build. This would give you more of audible cabin experience without being too overtly obnoxious.

If you want to pass sound at Laguna Secca you may want to keep the exhaust. It's well made, it's light weight, it won't blow the decimal limit at the track.

I'm with you, I love it! And it is not that quiet either, as I found out going through a long underpass the other day. But in the cabin it is quiet enough to enjoy the stereo or have a conversation.
