Police now pray on the very constituents that supported them. I know, I used to be a cop.
Money is why it is .08 now instead of .10 BAC. It isn't the .08 or .10 driver that is the problem. its the >.12 driver. How about the click it or ticket campaign? Pure abuse of our freedom. As an adult, shouldn't we be able to make the decision or accept the risk? One step closer to Communism every year.

As adults we SHOULD be able to make our own choices. Problem is, I am then relying on someone else's judgement that they are 1) not driving too fast for their skill level, 2) haven't had just 1 too many, etc. when I put my two kids in the car.

As long as the choice ONLY affects the person making it, then fill your boots. The minute someone gets behind a 2,000 lb missile on a public street with my family on the same street, then how much choice you have gets a little more grey. Don't know about you but when you children/spouse are out and about driving, I don't like the idea of Joe Blow at the local pub deciding that he is willing to accept the "risk" of driving home because he thinks he's fine. IMO, not his right to make that decision when it's other peoples safety at risk. The only time I buy into being "conservative" on an individuals ability to choose what they do is when those choices have significant potential to harm someone else. Otherwise, I agree with your comments.

I don't want to generalize, but I cant help but notice that people who are usually involved in police chases are, for the most part, are not too well off, or in simple terms poor. So, now in addition to all the violations/offences/whatever, they get a huge bill from Police Department that they can't/won't pay, mostly due being absolutely broke.

What happens to the people who can't pay? They either get dragged to court again, thrown in jail or both. Please tell me how would this help us, taxpayers, if courts and jails run on OUR money???

EDIT: America! Fuck yeah!

This is simple. Don't speed. If you do. Don't get caught.

Well, at least I know that if I am being chased down for speeding, to make it last at least 3.1 miles so that I got my money's worth!

It's such a load of BS. If those cops are getting let's say 20mpg they would have to chase you roughly for 60 miles to equal $12 worth of gas. Do they think they are going to be chasing a bunch bank robbers? The punishments exceeds the crime.

If this mentallity is allowed to go unchallenged then don't complain when one day you get a fule surcharge by a meter maid or when you get your car towed.

As if most heavily populated states weren't raking in hundreds of millions of dollars a year from traffic "violations", they want MORE money for gas now? (Plus all the smaller towns and cities that try and rape tourists and people passing through with traffic tickets since it's a huge source of income for them.) Greedy pigs...fuck em.

Not good, this will really decrease the amount of warnings they give out since that takes fuel.

Gotta love the govt taking advantage. Should invest in more bike patrols. The cop in that pic looked like he could use a workout.

I find it fucking funny that the guys with the slowest POS cars (read: 328) are the ones supporting this new legislation.
